Boston Bruins Trade Rumors…Are They Real?

The Boston Bruins are struggling to win hockey games and with that come trade rumors surrounding their players.

Brad Marchand and Trent Frederic are both on expiring contracts, so naturally, their names come up in rumors.

I decided to do some digging to see where these rumours came from and whether they were even valid.

So is Brad Marchand or Trent Frederic being shopped by the Boston Bruins?

  1. It is not completely wild to think of trading Marchand. Letting him get a payday next season and give him a chance for another cup . Then sign him for a one day contract to retire.

  2. I don’t really get it. There’s only a small handful of decent players who aren’t anchored to the ground by a 700 year NTC (Frederic). I fear that there is not much value in terms of pieces they can move without causing a bigger problem than it solves…..I worry about Don Sweeney making moves just for the sake of proving a point and extending his job. Gotta be careful. I guess many are ready to get rid of Frederic but I’m scratching my head. He’ll be cheap, fits the DNA and quite literally EXPLODED the past 2 seasons. This is a slump. I hate it. I predict he’ll move him out for a bad return just to make a move……and trading Marchand would be horrific for the culture. I agree. Don’t let Sweeney BLOW UP the team if he’s not even going to be here. Dangerous position to be in.

  3. Thanks for your insights, with all the other headline grabbing crap out there swirling around about the Bruins it’s nice just to be able to tune into your spots and get actual honest information. Thanks for what you do and please keep up the great work.

  4. You anti-Sweeney goofs will feel really foolish in a few months when this team turns into a wagon because of Korpisalo, Kastelic, Elias Lindholm, Hampus Lindholm, and Zadorov – all the players that people are attacking him for. I WANT SWAYMAN GONE, FREDERIC GONE, ZACHA GONE, and PASTRNAK GONE. I am sick of watching Zacha fail to hit the net and fail at making accurate passes. I'm sick of watching Pastrnak turn the puck over nearly every time he gets the puck by skating in to 4-5 of the opponents and thinking he can dangle and deke around them… over and over and over. His mediocre offense is not enough to offset the chaos he creates, I'm sick of hearing Swayman act like a dick off the ice and pretending to be joyous and happy in public. Frederic serves no benefit to the team now.

  5. No your just makin shit up ? Right ? So idiots like me watch. What makes you an insider ? Because you just make shit up inside your head ? Or you l8ve inside a deluded world. Here's a scoop ! Brad marchand traded for a moose hunting trip to newfoundland ? Pasta gets traded for a company that makes ridiculous suits ? Marchand should get around 1.7 mil based on his play. Elliott friedman traded for somebody who actually gets any real info or just another b.s. artist who has a secret fantasy of living inside joe Thornton beard. That's entertainment folks

  6. From now until the new year, the only trades Boston might make it to make the team immediately better. If they're several points out of a playoff spot in January, then there might be something.

  7. this team of bottom 6 forwards and ADHD defensemen isn't going to improve unless through the draft. not with this GM that created this frankenstein of a team. they've got no picks in the cupboard, no cap space, too many no trade clauses with too many players, underachieving players, and a GM that overpays stiffs. add 'em up together and you've got years of stupefying mediocrity. all they can do is move whoever they can for draft picks. i'd rather take a rebuild than perpetual mediocrity. even if this team rights itself and plays up to its' potential, they are a one and done team. that's all they are. move whoever is wanted elsewhere and have sweeney drive them to the new city. change the locks on the garden while he is gone.

  8. I love the idea of shaking things up by trading Carlo. He reminds me of Hal Gill without the offense. Big dude who plays like a kitten 😂. Hell, throw Frederic in for a better return.

  9. I sense that Elliot Friedman and some wannabe jock Sports reporters are the ones trying to blow up the Bruins.

Boy, Elliot just can't keep his mouth shut? He made that statement to get his name in the news.. because saying the name "Brad Marchand" is going to get clicks…

Can't count how many times Marchand has said he doesn't talk about his contracts to the media. Yet here's Elliot poking the bear!
    🙄
Got to pay for those Hot pockets !

My respect for Friedman has been diminishing.
This just pushes him down another notch.

I don't think we've heard from Freddy yet this season. He'll come along and Charlie Coyle will help him

But it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up playing with one of his Tkachuck buddies!

Who are both in the Eastern conference so that might not be the best move!

I have no opinion as to whether this trade could happen or not.

Court says it clearly -picking prospects, trading players is all gambling.

Bruins are always sitting at the negotiating table so anything can happen

I hope Freddy gets his game together, plays like a bat outta hell for Sacco.

I have joked about fans tarring & feathering Don Sweeney for trading certain players

It's not a joke when it comes to Brad Marchand!

They'd be poking too many bears if they tried to trade our lil rat!

    He's OURS!
    LOL!
    🪶

  10. It would be a big mistake to trade Marchand he is the heart and soul of the team now and if they trade him they might as well trade pretty much all and start a huge rebuild rather than a partial let’s not think a rebuild is coming

  11. Maybe they can get something for Sweeney the Weeney. Remember that shit always rolls downhill so let go straight to the top and blame who’s really responsible for such a horrible start. Both Neeley and Sweeney need to go to get this team back to a contender. They are the ones who created this mess so it’s open them to take responsibility for it. They keep naming scapegoats to be responsible for the shitty start but they created the problem and they should be held responsible.

  12. This is why I ask you questions. Because you will find out the “real” what’s-what. “If” Fredrick is traded, I’m seriously worried on what Sweeney gets in return. Something tells me he would get another “Zadarov” but as a winger.

  13. thanks for the updates
Trade Sweeney and Neely these rumor mills do not help anyone, especially on the team. if the locker room is confused they will not compete as well, but that is an internal issue, not for the talking heads to decide.
why do the Bruins front office only go by expectations of players as opposed to projected value based on actual stats and other known metrics?

  14. Marchand is still a player that people hate to play against and people must love to play with. I don't see that changing for a few more years at least. That being said I would love to see him in a winged wheel, but I'm sure that will never happen.

  15. Beating a dead horse, but when one or two players don’t perform it is on the player. When it’s the whole team, it’s on the coach. Is Monty a good coach? Yes, but he wasn’t shining this season and mgmt moved on it. That is what mgmt does.
Bradley is not leaving anytime soon. My guess is to see how the team looks as the smoke clears and make decisions from there. I think B’s issue is more mental than about skill. Lots of proven talent and good young prospects – if you can spark it. Good luck Joe.

  16. Ideally, the B's keep Freddy on the team one way or another. I wonder if the Swayman situation makes soft contracts with a lot of personal courtesies (eg we let our other goalie go ahead of time because we knew you were it) more difficult?

  17. Ouch. You brought up losing DeBrusk for nothing. That one still stings. I did like him on the team and was sad to see him go. Having said that, it irk's me they let him go for nothing. Specially since it was mentioned he had sold his home before the season ended. They knew he wasn't coming back and still didn't move him. The only thing I can see is they hung on to him as a rental for a playoff run.

Marchand is retiring a Bruin, just like Patrice did. Frederic will be a deadline move if he's traded.

I would not shed a tear if Carlo left. He is not the elite player management seem to think he is. Between him and Lohrei it looks like the Keystone Cops out there.

The other rumour is Zadorov back to Vancouver. They miss him, we hate him. If there's any truth to this one you'd have to move him for someone at his price point. How about Zadorov for DeBrusk. Can you imagine? It would actually help both teams and NHL pundits would lose their minds. 🤣

While we're at it, how about Swayman for Ullmark? This is why listening to trade rumours can be silly.

  18. I loved the spirit the Bruins showed against UHC. More of that, and I don't see the point of a shake-up trade. If it goes back to what it was, I'd say even Blades should be on the block.

  19. Nobody would want dirtbag Marchand except a garbage fan base like Boston. You can fire your coach……its your dinosaur roster thats the problem. That and rat boys big nose covering he entire net because Swayman couldn't stop a beach ball.

  20. Trade Frederic and get either draft choices or prospects. Same really for any other trades they make. Restock what we are missing

    Great video again! 👍👍👍

  21. The captain is absolutely the guy you don’t trade . Marchy is intense ,on his worst day he tries harder than anyone else on the bench . Trent as much as I like this guy is replaceable , but so are Zadorov and a handful of others who should be gone .

  22. I am of the opinion that Brad Marchand will retire a Bruin, whenever he decides to retire. I could see him going into the coaching/management ranks as well when he does retire. What he does over and above his positional/captains duties is immeasurable. I do believe if you cut off his arm he'd bleed Gold & Black !

  23. My Winnipeg Jets would LOVE to have someone like Frederic. I would LOVE to have either Frederic or Cozens out of BUF to center the Jets 2nd line. The Jets NEED grit, someone who can fight, put up a few points and has some size and speed. Those 2 players are ideal for WPG.

  24. The problem. The Bruins do not have the cap space to bring in a top 6 Forward. As much as I would love the Bruins to trade Coyle, it is not very likely. Reason, What team would want to trade for a player making 5.25 million a year who has averaged 15 goals a season for the last 5 seasons. Unless you package him with assets like they had to do with Backus a couple of years back. Maybe that is why the Bruins were showcasing Merkulov for a couple of games, and then send him back down even though he was successful in his three games.
