I was searching YouTube to watch Sarr’s double double highlights tonight and noticed his somewhat Michael Kidd-Gilchrist-inspired form in the thumbnail. Slightly concerning. Thoughts?

I don’t think it’s impossible to fix but I hope the coaching staff is working with him.

  1. When the season started you could tell they had worked on it, his form is inconsistent now he takes the ball too far behind his head when shooting threes especially. I think any form can be perfected if you stay in the gym and shoot with confidence. Like everything with Sarr’s game, strength and repetition can only make him better.

  2. I’m hoping that part of it is just due to him lacking strength, so he’s having to pull it back more to make the distance. His form on his mid range shots looks a lot more comfortable. Hopefully as he gets stronger it smooths out a bit

  3. Sarr taking 4-5 3s a game is insane. I know we want him to develop and don’t care about losing but letting him shoot 19% with this form isn’t helping anyone. He needs to limit it to 2-3 a game till it starts falling

  4. So here’s the thing. The form sucks. However we’ve seen bad forms work in the past. If the shot goes in at least a league average clip you will see no complaints from me. If he keeps shooting sub 30% it’s time for him to get in the lab and work the shooting coaches to change it. He has a soft touch and so we know he has all the tools to be a shooter, just needs to be guided the right way to use his natural soft touch. Give it till end of his sophomore year before we start making any proposals. Too small a sample size right now. Who knows maybe they tweak his form over the course of the season or during ASB or during the offseason. We’re WAYYY to early right now to know whats going to happen for certain.
