  1. Happy for him getting the bag. Probably would mean Angles are going to keep Trout and pretend to be contending

  2. Angels are STILL the only team allowed to do anything.

    And what a team they’re assembling…

  3. Look, when you’re a really bad team with no future that just almost lost 100 games and you get a chance to pay an aging starter 20 million a year for three years, you do it.

  4. Because when you can get a 33 year old with a career 91 ERA+, you throw the bag at them.

  5. Why didn’t stros retain him? Was this too expensive for them? He played great for em right?

  6. Not a bad signing tbh

Edit: also the Astros sending the Jays what they did for him now looks like a real overpay

  7. Angels picking up the slack for the rest of the league by making transactions just to give us something to talk about

  8. Also, people already calling this an overpay is kinda wild…he’s the first pitcher to sign this offseason. Need to see how the rest of the contracts end up looking before deciding if this is truly an overpay or not.

And in the event it is an overpay, it’s only three years, and we probably need to overpay FA’s to come to this crappy org.

  9. I really hope for the best for Kikuchi. Good guy, super likable. A lot of Astros fans were pissed at the deadline but he shut them up and was class while doing it. He’s a good pick up for literally any team. Plus if the Angels continue to flounder, he’ll likely be an asset that can be moved.

  10. It seems a bit on the high side, otherwise I don’t think there’s anything bad about the deal for the Angels. Kikuchi is a fine SP and a great teammate and professional.
