Which of these moments left you the angriest as a fan?

I’ll never forgive Jarry’s giveaway to Barzal. But man hanging in for 7 games with 4th string goalie only for your starting goalie come back and lose it for the team really turned into the identity of the team after that series
Isles, and it’s not close
Number 3. Fuck Kuznetsov and his fucking bird dance
Number 3 was the least upset I’ve been after a playoffs loss. Having won two years in a row I was like “well, 🤷♂️ had to end sometime”.
Number 2 fucking stings because they had a real shot to go far until Jarry reverted to a mites player.
#2 and like another poster said. It’s not even close.
Jarry. I was there and I haven’t forgiven him since.
Stupid question, but what’s the first moment? I tend to erase any memories of the Blue Jackets.
The CBJ Dubinsky/Foligno goals didn’t bug me that much. Sure it was sloppy, but somehow I knew we were still winning that series and the jackets couldn’t win another game.
The caps goal was disappointing but it didn’t make me angry. Obviously losing to them sucks, but we had just won back to back cups, and 9 straight playoff series. They had to lose at some point, and they lost to a pretty damn good team. It’s hard to be *angry* about that.
The isles goal was just enraging. Battling all game and all series, for that to end it? I knew it was over. Just stunning, horrific, inexcusable. I will die angry about that goal
Number 1 was typical Fleury, he loved to misplay the puck behind the goal and cause a goal against. Answer has to be number 2 though but 2022 Rangers game 7 should be on the list
that last one made me happy
I’m confused what moment number one is because we’ve never lost to CBJ in the playoffs. Based on the jerseys, 2014 playoffs?
Edit: Moment 1 and 3 shouldn’t be on there.
I think Pettersson getting his helmet pulled off in game 7 against NYR forcing him to have to change which ultimately lead to the GTG should be on here.
None of them. You can’t really blame any of this where coaching and/or management is to blame.
Yes
The winter classic against the capitals had me pretty fucking pissed. And knowing crosby was injured badly made it even worse.
The Kuznetsov goal was the beginning of the end but it was hard to be mad at them after winning the cup two years straight.
THE FUCKING ISLANDERS, however…
The isles series loss pushed me to cancel my season tickets. Haven’t looked back and am happier than ever. I go a few times a year and that’s enough, especially now. It will suck when Crosby retires. Tons of good memories watching the fight to get back into the playoffs and win those cups.
Washington. There’s about three penalties that could have been called on that breakaway and two of them are Tom Wilson interfering with anyone he could.
Number 1 didn’t matter in the end, we still won the series.
Number 3 isn’t that huge a deal to me. So we didn’t win 3 years in a row, big deal. We were basically playing with house money that year.
Number 2 is one of the most humiliating moments in pens playoff history. Fuck the isles for that and for ‘93
Playoffs Fleury always caused pens fans to go into rage mode. But it taught us to never be surprised when Fleury allowed 1 (or 5) softies.
Jarry vs the isles was heart breaking because we thought we moved on from Fleury and MM and finally found a reliable franchise goalie again. Expectations were high. We outplayed the isles the entire series and Jarry just lost it for us.
My most angry moment(s?) is every single time Fleury left the net to play the puck. Fuck he was horrible at it. Just stay in the net.
As an old, none of these frustrate me nearly to the level of David Voleks G7 OT goal in 1993 or us being completely shut down by John Vanbiesbrouck in G7 in 1996.
That Islanders series. I bought tickets to Jarry’s Blunder. We came back in that game and the atmosphere was awesome as OT began and then Jarry played the puck and I never heard the arena silenced so quickly.
Everyone talking about Petterson losing his helmet, but I’m still mad Trouba never got disciplined
The first image the Blue Jackets only tied the series so it sucked but we didn’t lose the series in that moment.
The third image we got eliminated after winning back to back cups. It sucked but the 2 cups eased the pain.
The second image is the worst because we outplayed the Isles and only lost because of our goaltending. Especially hurts now looking back and you realize that season was probably the last good chance the Crosby era Penguins had.
Definitely the Kuznetsov goal..won the series against an arch rival we own in the playoffs, so typical a turnover at the blue line & our D not paying attention nor reading the situation & get to the center of the ice. The Fleury & Jarry goals didn’t bother me at all. Not sure how they could be that big of a deal to people. We didn’t lose the Jackets series & we definitely weren’t beating the Islanders.
Jarry’s clearing attempt up center ice in OT against the Isles. He lost us that series, and I have never trusted him in goal since. I’m counting down the days until he’s gone.
If we’re are talking at the moment it happened definitely number 3. I hate kuznetsov and it was the Caps. But after they won the cup it just quit stinging. But #2 still makes me angry when I see it. Probably because Jarry is still starting.
2018 by far I’ll never forgive letang for chucking his stick like that
To me, the worst was losing to the Flyers series in 2012, especially going down 3-0. It wasn’t our worst defeat, but to lose such a physical and emotional series against our hated rivals, it sucked so much.
Caps easily, we hit the post in OT just before that goal
For me it was the NYR playoff series a few years ago. They got bullied and cheap-shotted all over the ice, lost Rakell to a big hit early in the series, Crosby got cross checked in the back of the neck by Trouba. Was it a 3-1 series lead they blew after that dirty hit?
And the reason it’s the worst moment wasn’t so much the series itself, but how they responded that offseason, and every offseason since: by adding absolutely nothing in terms of toughness, doubling down on the charade of playing this weak Sully Disney on ice crap.
Isles and it’s not even close.
In order 3,2,1
None. I love all of them. I’m old enough to recall Volek and Uwe Krupp
Not even a question.. ALL OF THEM?!
fuck man its Jarry and not even particularly close for me – to just throw the game away with an absolute pizza straight to Bailey in a game New York had no business winning was and still is infuriating. Rest of these goalie moments you can chalk up to tough luck but Jarry just handed the series over to the Isles with a completely boneheaded unforced error and I feel like most fans havent forgiven him since. Dude straight up wilts in the spotlight and its a damn shame to watch him fall off so hard.
I was in attendance for the first one. It sucked but it was more of a moment that made me frustrated. #2 was the most disappointing of the 3. But nothing has ever filled me with rage like that fucking bird dance. And of those three opponents, I’ve never hated one as much as the Caps. Still, I would have rather anyone else on their team scored that goal instead of Kuznetsov. I’m worked up all over again, wishing the worst of digestive ailments to the Caps and their fans.

My choice is #3. LoL
