But I do not trust these brains.

  1. >One lingering question from today’s bombshell in Chicago: Why did the #Bears have Matt Eberflus speak to the media hours before firing him?

    >My understanding is George McCaskey, Kevin Warren and Ryan Poles had just begun a meeting that lasted multiple hours when Eberflus’ regularly scheduled press conference started. A delay would’ve pointed towards a change that at that point hadn’t been decided. By the time the decision was finalized, the presser was long over and Eberflus was informed.

    >Now the Bears’ brain trust has a five-week jumpstart on a search to fill what should be a coveted job.

All of the context. The fact that there needed to be an hours long meeting is wild. And the fact that the meeting started when the press conference did is also crazy. Delaying his media availability would not have pointed at anything other than you delayed it a couple hours.

  2. If I hear a murmur of them bringing on Bill Polian or some shit, I’ll go found my lost mind just to lose it again.

  3. I’m hoping Thomas Brown does so well that the decision is easy. The best possible outcome would be that we have a great head coach in house already and he shows everyone his potential in these last 5 weeks

  4. They couldn’t even fire the coach probably without a clown show. How are we expecting these morons to pick the right guy this time?

  5. Coveted job? Yeah I’m sure the 5th HC in 11 years will be the one to turn it around 🙄

  6. They don’t have a 5 week head start. They’re 10 months late on something that should have already been done.

  7. Coveted is an understatement

    – Caleb
    – humongous cap space
    – draft capital
    – best players all on 1st or early 2nd contracts
    – huge sports market
    – 6th or 7th most valuable sports franchise on Earth (depending on source)
    – new stadium coming
    – football history, royalty
    – loyal fanbase and admin

  8. Never use the words “brains” and “trust” in the same sentence as the Bears ever again until we make the playoffs.

  9. Let’s be real, it wasn’t Matt Eberflus that got Matt Eberflus fired, it was us. The McCaskeys NEVER fire head coaches midseason. We are fucking rabid at this point. If they bring in Bill Polians, we flood the airwaves with pitchforks again.
