  2. A 1st class ticket is enough. The idea that an NFL team should charter a jet for every candidate is absurd and honestly wasteful. The McCaskeys are at least cognizant of climate change.

  3. The McCaskey family has to go above and beyond to just get the fuck out of their own way, and be normal. I’m so tired of them making our franchise look stupid, it’s exhausting. How are they not exhausted?

  5. Good news, the McCaskeys were, by all accounts, the impetus for the NFL allowing private equity investments. Go sell a 10% stake in the team to a PE firm for a couple hundred million and you have the liquidity you need.

  9. Meh, there’s other things to complain about. I mean they certainly could have sprung for a first class ticket, but chartering a private jet seems excessive. I doubt someone is going to make a job decision based on whether a team hired a private jet for them or not.

  11. The Bears have a private jet. They showed it off on Hard Knocks and in 1920 Football Drive. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t use it? Maybe they JUST got it?

    McCaskeys need to own this team more like an angel investor than an actual owner. Personally I understand the family not wanting to give up a legendary American sports team. But no one in that family understands the NFL.

The NFL is the kind of business that you don’t have to be a billionaire to make it work because it’s so profitable, but if your competition are billionaires who don’t need the profits the NFL franchise will generate, at some point you need to just give it up and become a billionaire by selling the team.

    There’s nothing to cheer or root for when there’s no hope.

    As long as the McCaskey’s are alive, this team will suck. Not a serious franchise at all. Just there so other real teams have an opponent to beat each week.

  36. The issue is that the mccaskeys are poor (relatively). Most of these guys live like billionaires, the mccaskeys live like millionaires. There’s a big difference.
