As someone that lives in the DC area, last night is not going to be something I can simply forget. Please beat the Rags 🙏
It happens. At least they showed some life, and didn’t lose 6-0, (I’m looking at you, Carolina.)
I feel like after each game v the Caps this year I say to myself “that was a stupid game”. Win or lose. Idk I just get that feeling
Sigh
Still mad about how Jake fumbled away the game last night. I haven’t seen a home game win in 5 years, and this is the worst loss by far I’ve been to because the caps did not play their best last night and the team choked so hard. I’m thinking I’m never going to see this team get a home win again in my lifetime at this point.

>Since entering the league 4 years ago Dawson Mercer has cost the Devils -6.18 goal differential and -178 shot differential relative to a league average player*
>Of the 63 Devils to have played in that time, that ranks him 63rd in both stats.

He has to be better.
Some takeaways from last night.. they have to start stronger. This was a problem last season that seemed to have resolved and now it’s back. Home ice continues to be an issue, how that gets fixed I don’t know. They’ve scored 10 goals in the past 2 games after getting shut out by the Blues, but the defensive play seems looser than it has been. Maybe that’s just a fluke or did they try to change something after that shut out? I whined about the officiating in the Blues game and I’m not going to do it for this one. Bottom line is that game at the very least gets them 1 point if not for a very bad sequence by Jake Allen. It happens. Move on from it. Overall I loved the ability to fight back and I hope the sting of this loss carries them into Monday and they are fired up facing the Rangers.
