The Kentucky Wildcats are 7-0 for the first time since the 2016-17 season and have consistently been one of the best offenses in college basketball to start the year.

The Wildcats are playing incredibly good basketball under new head coach Mark Pope, knocking off the Duke Blue Devils a few weeks ago while taking care of business in the rest of their games that they should win.

KenPom currently has Kentucky as the No. 12 team, while DRatings has the Wildcats at No. 9. Haslametrics values Kentucky the best, ranking them at No. 8.

The last Kentucky team to reach an 8-0 start to a season were the 38-1 Wildcats in 2014-2015.

This week, Pope’s team has a chance to string together two more wins. However, their matchups at Clemson and against No. 3 Gonzaga (in Seattle) will be far from easy.

In fact, ESPN’s Basketball Power Index considers Kentucky an underdog in both games, with a 49.4% chance of winning at Clemson and a 41.6% chance of winning against Gonzaga.

It’s not hard to see that this will be a tough week for the Wildcats, but a good test of their chemistry and ability to execute in tough environments nonetheless.
