Still just all talking head speculation, BUT, if it were to happen what would you think of this happening? Good for us or not at that price tag?

It would be an excellent signing. Just what we need. An OF power bat.
Don’t see the Reds shelling out that kind of money.
Do they have to shed payroll to make the signing fit?
That’s not even speculation. It’s certainly not a prediction.
I’m predicting I’ll marry Margot Robbie.
Would be cool, he’d fit a major need. However, considering this team’s track record with FA signings it seems like a long shot.
Teoscar is exactly the kind of player this team needs to shore up LF
I don’t know how things will turn out, but it seems like he hits well when protected in the line up. I think it would pay off only as well as the rest of the lineup performs. But what I came here to say was my enjoyment of sports headlines like “predicted in surprise.” Love it. 🙃
Big Ryan Ludwick signing vibes
As nice as it would be, pretty unlikely. While I can see the Reds going all in and meeting what he wants in AAV, I can’t see them doing the type of years he would want. Tescar already did the prove it deal, so he’s looking for 6+ years this time. I can’t see the Reds doing anything past 3 years at this point.
I’d still put him as a likely Dodger, with the Red Sox, and maybe the Royals being contenders. Possibly the Blue Jays under certain circumstances.

I’d say as likely as us signing Pedro Martinez
If you actually read the Athletic article he references, this is not a prediction. It’s pulled from an article where they pick a free agent signing for each team, admitting that some are wishful thinking, or teams that we know aren’t going to sign a big name free agent, but it’s the structure of the article they chose. This is lazy, mindless writing by the Sporting News and just not worth anybody’s time.
“A note to the readers: This is an imperfect exercise. We can’t assign every player to the Los Angeles Dodgers, even if seemingly every free agent might want to play there and every free agent might fit there. (Don’t even try to ask about Roki Sasaki, by the way.) We can’t let Steve Cohen outfit all the starting pitchers in orange and blue. We have to predict the Miami Marlins will sign a big-league free agent. There will be some whiffs in here. But hopefully we can demonstrate how the rest of this winter could unfold.”
Of all the “big stick” hitters mentioned as potential Reds targets, Teoscar is the one I thought fit the team’s needs the best. It is a high price, but it would make for a nice lineup. Is there really any interest? I hope so.
