Austin Ekeler when asked if he could return this season:

  1. Um, no. At this point, IDGAF what Ekler wants, or the team wants. TWO concussions in one season when we all know what CTE can lead to means that it would be dangerous to society to continue letting ek play… i love the guy and all he has done but at some point a line has to be drawn to keep us from getting more Jovan Belchers or Phillip adams’. It’s unfortunate what has happened to them but if we don’t learn something from it, wtf are we doing, save your life ek, just retire and enjoy your $$$

  2. He gone. I definitely enjoyed the 11 & 1/4 Games that he was able to contribute, but at this point it doesn’t sound too promising.

Based on his comments, he also sounds a bit “off” still with his response(s) anyways.

Maybe it’s time to hang em up and worry about his own safety and well-being first, but whatever route he chooses to go, I still wish him the best… 🙏

  3. I love the guy, awesome dude. I loved him even back when he was on the Chargers. But his health matters more. He needs to call it a career. He just got married and has his entire life ahead of him. He and his family will be set for generations.

  4. If he can come back and play, great…if he shuts it down until further notice, great as well. I’m cool with whatever direction he goes in.

  5. Dude could have easily taken the easy payday and rested on his laurels like so many vets have with this team, but he came here and gave us 110%. Awesome player, but I hope he makes his health and future his top priority and considers retiring. At the very least he needs to take this season and the off season to reassess. CTE is no joke.

  6. If he is done I’d love to see him hang around in a coaching position. He really is such a multifaceted back that I think he probably has a wealth of knowledge to share.

  7. He needs to shut it down this season. He should get all the medical advice he can and then decide if he should walk away.
