  1. I don't care if he's a good guy or what he tweets. The league needs to show players that there will be serious consequences for these kinds of hits. If you didn't mean to hurt the guy, etc. welp you still F'd up and you're getting suspended 3 games. If you want to play like this guy go ahead but you risk suspension and that's how it should be. Protect players and protect fans from having to see this kind of violence.

  2. I think Perna summed it up best, If you dont have a problem with the hit you have to be a Texans fan.

You are never going to be able to escape fan bias.

Quite frankly I think the league needs more of this hard hitting football because I have had my fill of the league coddling QBs that quite frankly wouldnt have survived 15-20 years ago in the league. It would force the changes needed to fix the major problem the league is fostering.

Perhaps the worst thing for the league was the migration to wearing this extensive head and body armor. Its sort of like how dangerous boxing has gotten the "safer" it has been made by adding these weighted gloves that allow fighters to punch harder and suffer less fatigue on their hands. Bare knuckle causes more blood but there is less damage because of self preservation of ones own body.

The NFL is much the same way, The pads and hel allow for much more violent collisions which WILL result in much more violent trauma. Not just because of the added protection but because of the added weight that comes with it.

Protection is exactly that, protection. Its NOT mitigation. It helps but you WILL still endure damage and when you are a 5`10, 200lb soaking wet "short king" prancing around the field, Very bad things are going to happen when you come face to face with someone 6`6 and 300+ lbs barreling down at you 4.78×40 speed with violent intent.

This is only going to get worse the more that the league pushes the weight disparity between players. Boxing has weight classes for exactly this reason.

Bruce Lee was allegedly the baddest man on the planet but he would have had his skull crushed by an actual American biker with 100+ extra pounds of weight, a full foot of height and 20 extra inches of reach. Martial arts was popularized despite being much less effective because speed LOOKS good.

Azeez did his job as he was trained to do. Nothing you can do will make a body be more durable to hits except balance weight more evenly.

Guys like Tua and Kyler need to go ahead and call it a career before they end up wishing they had the mobility of Ali at the end. Linemen are going to keep getting bigger and you cant coach speed. Youll never be fast enough. Even a glancing blow from an 18 wheel semi is going to absolutely disintegrate a lambo. Lambo should be able to avoid most, but if it doesnt, the result is NOT going to be pretty.

  3. He extended his forearm right into his head as he was sliding, dirty as hell. He doesn’t need any excuses made for him. This is beyond the game being soft, hits to the head like that have no place in the game.

  4. Fans is one thing. These analysts and former players forgot how the game goes. Slide sooner! Mahomes takes advantage of those rules by faking all the time. Also I’m sure Azeez was expecting him to dive for the first. QB needs to be flagged for not sliding sooner. Call it “Unnecessary Yardage”😂

  5. Full Speed + Slide = FAKE SLIDE

Trevor waited past the point of no return to slide.
    A collision was inevitable.
The defender has a right to protect themselves from an aggressive ball carrier.
The defender has a right to momentum when facing a ball carrier.

  6. The league has become so soft and manipulated that refs can call anything they feel like or not depending on who is the player and team. They have changed so many rules that we all forget what sport we are watching now.

  7. I agree with Sherman, when you look at that play Trevor Lawrence started acting like he was going to slide at the 50 but his ass didn't touch the ground until the 45. Al-Shaair left his feet at the 43. I feel like Trevor Lawrence tried to pick up the first when he should have gotten on down at the 47 and he ran into a freight train set on stopping the first. Thats good football.

  8. It was a dirty play man. Get off your high horse bruh 😂. On a more serious note, they need to make it illegal to fake a slide. 15 yard penalty. Maybe even go as far as unsportsmanlike penalty, 15 yards, and a warning. Next time you do it you're out of the game. That would help tremendously for all parties

  9. Same folk crying are the same folk who adored Bill Romanowski who played 16 yrs in this manner. The hypocrisy of some folks is disgusting, it's gotten to the point nobody listening we all know the angle…..
