I should note that he’s actually tied with Nikola Jokic at 32.5 but Jokic is listed 2nd on the list

  1. Giannis has 32.47 and Jokic has 32.44.

    Still, great to see it!

I think Giannis deserves another MVP but if he’ll get it, is another thing.

  2. If Khris ever comes back, we should end up with a better record than the Nuggets. It would help, but still no guarantees.

Just look at Embiid. He’s finished over Giannis every “healthy” season since 2021, with all the narratives going his way. When he didn’t have the stats, it was team success. When he didn’t have the team success, it was the “kept the team together without Simmons”. And he finally won, when we had the best record in the NBA with Giannis averaging 30/12/6 and Khris barely playing. MVP voting will make no sense as long as clowns like SAS and Perkins have votes.

  3. #1 in PER with 32.5 Giannis

#2 in PER with 32.4 Jokic

#14 in PER with 23.1 Dame

#15 in PER with 22.9 Jonas Valančiūnas

When we played Wizards the other day Jonas was cookin’ Brook’s ass like he was his Daddy. Jonas ValančiΕ«nas only makes $9mill/per. HORST TRADE FOR JONAS I DON’T CARE WHAT IT TAKES!

  4. Michael Jordan should have won 7 straight MVP awards from 1987-1993 and during that time only walked away with 3 due to voter fatigue. Jokic has already won 3 times in 4 years. NBA didn’t even let the GOAT Jordan who avg 33/7/6 with shooting splits of 50/35/84 with 2.8 STL’s with a defensive rating of just 102.4 on a team 57-25 win 3 straight MVP’s he didn’t even come in second he was 3rd in MVP voting in 1993.

If they give Jokic a 4th MVP in 5 years it will do serious damage to the value of the MVP while comparing greatest of all time players. Has Jokic been more dominant the last 5 years than Jordan from ’89-’93?

Giannis has a higher PER and PPG and is an ELITE Defender rather than a 7ft traffic cone.

Bottom line is give the MVP to anybody not named Jokic so that MVP’s don’t suffer from MVPflation.

  5. My thoughts are that he continues to be under appreciated and in 15 years people will be saying “Wow, did you realize Giannis…” like they do with Hakeem now.

  6. PER is a pretty bad stat, but it’s a bad stat that overvalues offensive stats and massively undervalues defensive ability.

Giannis beating out Jokic with the year he’s having is actually pretty crazy.
