I don’t want Beli but Suzuki just turned 30, has had a 842 and 848 OPS in the last 2 seasons at only $19M cash for the next two years
To me this would seem like a very good option at a fine salary with only 2 years left. His peripherals are very good, solves our OF problem, allows Acuna to potentially move to DH next year when Ozuna leaves
I would love Suzuki. cubs would be dumb to get rid of him
Would love Suzuki, been a fan ever since he missed that routine fly ball against the Braves.
“Cubs are determined to trade Bellinger-”
Yeah, no thanks.
“-Or Suzuki.”
Now hold on a minute!
Belli has “bust year” written all over him and is overpaid. Suzuki would be close to a perfect match for this team to play in LF. Dunno what his price would be, but the fact that he’s well paid and 30 years old might make him attainable for us. I think he “only” has two more years of control left as well so they may not demand a king’s ransom if offloading salary is their primary motivation.
Yes to Suzuki.
As much as I like Suzuki, he’s another right hander who can’t play defense. The team HAS to get more left handed especially when one those is presumably Ozzie again next year.
