I am not Butch, for the record.
ok, so, the reds have been a baseball team for 143 years. it’s pretty much impossible to calculate how many players have played for the reds in that time, but it’s safe to say there’s no possible way you have an autographed card for every player who has ever been a red. baseball cards *have* existed pretty much that whole time, though, which i was surprised to learn.
but doing some very rough math, it seems more likely you’ll run out of cards before the reds win the world series. especially in this era of bad ownership and mlb’s broken financial rules.
i did some digging and a generous number of new players each year would be 10-15. so i’d say it’s pretty hard to see you having more than 1500 unique, autographed reds baseball cards. my guess is the actual number is way less.
so if the reds don’t win the world series in the next couple years, what’s your plan?
