Most teams don’t mention or make a deal out of this but very cool
Interesting to watch this offseason if true. I don’t see anything out of the world signing but few pieces here and there and if it brings home a WS it’s worth it
as a reminder, the Braves are only $24M under the first CBT threshold right now, and it seems very likely that they’ll acquire at least 1 SP, at least one OF, and at least one reliever. Short of acquiring at least two of those guys via trades (and trades for inexpensive players at that) or trading away a high-salaried player form the roster, it was always going to be very difficult to do a tax reset
Let’s bring Max back. If there was ever a guy who will grind and find a way to bring value to a team during his past-prime years, I think it’s Max. On the other hand, a solidly 110 OPS+ hitter would be nice too…
Plot twist – signing Soto.

He’s been saying that for a while. The Braves don’t really care about paying the tax, they only care about how much they’re actually spending in a given year
