  1. Very elite Key game. Glad I didn’t give up on him in his October games

A much needed loss, as the Kings will be competition as one of the 7 west teams in the lottery. Them having a win over us makes them have an extra win, in case the Jazz, and Kings finish the season with the Kings barely having 1 win over the Jazz

  2. Well, the Kings are a great team that’s underperforming. They were due for a game like this against anyone. That being said, it’s funny how teams seem to get so pumped up when they throttle our tanking team.

Great game by Keyonte. Can we say it? Key has looked really good in the last month or so. Very efficient game, low turnovers, looked in control.

Rough game for Lauri. He just looks way less aggressive and dynamic this year. Not sure what happened.

Collier can pass but he had some shots that made me wince. I don’t think he’s going to take Key’s spot at PG anytime soon.

Mykalluik also looked pretty rough out there. But his numbers are good so maybe just a bad game.

Yet another solid game for Collins and Kessler.

Solid game for Sexton. He needs more than 8 shots, needs more 3 attempts, he’s ultra efficient.

  3. Massive grain of salt with this game, lots of negatives but some quiet positives.

I’m gonna say this in most game threads but don’t buy the jerseys of the young guys because I’m thinking a lot of trades are coming over the next couple years, I can’t really overreact to individual young guys performances because I simply don’t know which ones will be here long term and which ones will be taken as flyers by other teams.

Happy for Doug McDermott as well, his off ball movement was beautiful to watch from a general ball fan standpoint. Keegan Murray didn’t but 42 threes as well so I guess that’s good.

  4. Disappointing performance after such a good game against the Blazers, here’s my thoughts on the guys.

Lauri – Great to see him back on the court but he was extremely out of rhythm. Didn’t hit double digits in scoring and was -25 on the court, trust he will improve massively as he gets back into the swing of things.

John – Again our best player and played hard. Was shooting it like Larry Bird from 3.

Walker – Was giving Sabonis a hard time at the start and was rebounding well. Other than that his teammates didn’t help him too much on defense.

Collin – Had some poor live ball turnovers which resulted in runouts. Was efficient from 3 but not a great game from him.

Keyonte – Started the game sloppily with bad turnovers but had a really nice scoring game, showing a lot of skills and consistency across his offensive game.

Johnny – Very bad, I’ve noticed often when he is cold he brings nothing else to the court. -37 and couldn’t do much right apart from hit a couple of garbage time shots. Guilty of leaving Huerter open multiple times in the first half.

Collier – Can’t score and fouls like crazy. Saw all the raw parts of his game today. Is confident with his shots but a lot of them look terrible, -28 on the court.

Brice – Positive: 3 threes Negative: Everything else he did on the court. Summed up by in the first half not running back leaving Ellis open for a 3, then letting Ellis outhustle him on a rebound and get a layup. Struggle to see any improvement from him and as a second year player I have my eye on him more than the rookies for improvement and what kind of role in the NBA he will have. Only thing he can do is shoot the 3 but he can’t run off screens like Doug McBuckets for example, so he’s just a stand still 3 point shooter – not sure what team will trust him to play consistently and do that in the NBA.

Flip – Nice to see him back on the court. Hope he gets back into the rotation and plays like he was pre injury.

Drew – Did his best but nothing of note to talk about.

Micah – Not a good game from him, couldn’t do anything positive and was -19 in 14 minutes.

Svi – Didn’t score a point and his shot was cold but he was weirdly +1 on the court in his 10 minutes.

Coach Hardy – Maybe drinking his purple drink meant that the Kings in their purple jerseys were going to play well. Was clearly very unhappy with the first half defense on Huerter and the overall play of the guys. Went down the tunnel quick after the final whistle. Think he will be disappointed with the massive discrepancy in performance after the Blazers game. It will be a big challenge this season to win back to back games.

Next up the Suns, want to see us compete way harder and pay more attention defensively for sure.
