  1. JJ did NOT need a second surgery, it was a PRP injection for swelling, which is totally normal. And he's ahead of schedule on his recovery. Not saying we shouldn't keep Darnold, but this narrative that JJ is too hurt to play next year is just false.

  2. I'm glad he brought up tiebreakers with the Eagles. If Vikings win NFC North, they would have the tiebreaker over the Eagles based on strength of victories:

    1. Head-to-head – N/A
    2. W-L in conference – tie (each lost 2 games in conference)
    3. W-L in common games – tie or Vikings (each lost 1 — Eagles need to win wk 18 against Giants to keep the tie)
    4. Strength of victory – Vikings (unreachable for Eagles)

There are also scenarios where the Lions could lose their NFC North tiebreakers. Something like Lions losing @Chicago, would allow the Vikings to drop the game @Seattle and still win the division with a week 18 victory over the Lions.

  3. JJ didn’t need a second surgery. It was an injection for swelling. His timetable for recovery hasn’t changed at all. Also, JJ is faster and quicker than Darnold with a stronger arm. JJ threw the second fastest ball in the combine. I don’t know why people keep parroting these lies. McCarthy was seriously impressing in camp. Darnold has been amazing to watch this season, but JJ is going to be special. We have three draft picks. It doesn’t make sense to hurt our cap when we have holes and a QB on a rookie contract that was looking great in camp.

  4. I just don’t want good holding us back from great I don’t think Sam isn’t playing amazing right now but let’s not act like he’s not being partially propped up by a top 5 defense and the best WR duo in the nfl, at a certain point if you want multiple shots at a SB bowl and to actually win one you need a QB that can elevate those around him even when those around him are already pretty elite and I think Mcarthy has those intangibles I’m not 100% sure Sam does

  5. No matter what they won't give Minny credit and that isn't going to change. People simply can't shed their biases. Whenever they win it's always about who they played despite Detroit and GB essentially playing the same schedule. Chiefs win by one score and they are great Minny does it and they are suspect. When they do well the goalposts are moved to "now you cross this line I will believe and then just one more time… etc. They have the most 20+ yards in the NFL which means they are throwing deep and connecting.

  6. It just feels so good being right for the entire kirk saga in Minnesota! I would have the discussions to see if they could mutually see a 2 year contract for Darnold at a good/fair price. Darnold gets more equity in his play for another year or two under KOC to go big head hunting when he is 29 years old. We can bargain for our team structure and the weapons and defense we have while saving QB money. Also have JJ McCarthy waiting in the wings. I would pray that we could sign him for 2 years at 30m a year in this salary cap. I also think quarterback salaries are way overbloated. Only 1 or 2 quarterbacls should be making the astronomically high 50-60m contracts. The rest need to prove they can overcome roster deficiencies to make legit runs in the playoffs.

  7. If the Vikings go to the Superbowl, then I would consider keeping Darnold. Otherwise, I would stick with the original plan of McCarthy backed up by Daniel Jones, so money can be used to add/keep talent on the Defense and the Offensive Line. Can Darnold overcome the lack of pieces like Mahomes, Brady, etc? Could be possible, but he has yet to show it. The only thing concerning me with the Vikings this year is their offensive line, which is substandard compared to Green Bay, Detroit, and Philadelphia. Too many easy pressures to start the game. Too many penalties that stop drives.

  8. So my question is has Darnold peaked, or has he got room for growth in the KOC system. Why not franchise him and play him another year. If he finishes good this year he is only 27 and should have 8-10 years left in him. Top flight QB's are hard to come by.

  9. He’s only 3 years older than Michael Penix. Potentially if he leads the Vikes deep into the playoffs and earns a lucrative contract, it will probably come from the worst teams in the NFL. He wont have the coaching or weapons with the Giants, Saints, Panthers, Jets, etc.

  10. As a Vikings fan I am one of the hardest people on this team; not because I don't believe in them but because I know what they're capable of in terms of the coaching, and roster. This isn't meant to be disrespectful but the Detroit Lions are a bum ass franchise/organization. They couldn't do jack squat with a HOF QB in Matthew Stafford outside of like one or two seasons that amounted to absolutely nothing. They trade him for a boat load of draft capital; a competent QB in Goff; and had already been such dog shit that they were picking high almost every year anyway. This Detroit Lions is the real deal but let's not act like they're somehow deserving of being taken more serious than both the Vikes and Packers. They aren't king's of shit; Green Bay have been the king's of the NFC North and I fucking hate that team. Dan Campbell is not Coach of The Year either; not when you go into the season with a stacked roster, and expectations of Super Bowl appearance. Kevin O'Connell is more deserving of COTY because his team was being ridiculed and laughed at for the off season decision making and now look at who's fucking 11-2 with a redemption story such as Sam Darnold. Fuck out of here with the haters doubting the Vikings, man. It's the NFL anything can happen!

  11. The Wilf’s are owners of the Vikings and paying the bills. They were the ones asking Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to look for a young franchise quarterback in McCarthy. Anyone wanting to talk about Darnold’s future in Minnesota needs to be talking with the Wilf’s. What you seen in Kirko chains on Sunday with the Falcon’s will be Darnold without the rest of Minnesota Vikings from coaching, offense & defense. Js!

  12. Tag Sam, keep working on J.J. stay the course. KOC can do with J.J. , what he’s done with every other quarterback thus far. He made Josh Dobbs the man, for goodness sake!!

  13. The QB development system that the MN Vikings coaching staff have is the real story not talked about. We’ve seen QBs such as Cousins, Dobbs, Mullins, and Darnold excel in the scheme. I’m confident that McCarthy would also succeed, as he showed tremendous growth from the off season to the preseason. If Darnold seeks money beyond what the Vikings can provide, Vikings fans should be comfortable in the team sticking to their original plan to build around a rookie QB contract; that’ll afford the team more cap room to bring in more talent and potentially open up a SB window. I’m excited either way because the team is set up for success. Enjoy the ride Vikings fan!

  14. Darnold gets better as the game goes on. He gets better after he's hit a few times. He pushes the ball down the field like the great ones do. We haven't had a QB like this in a long, long time.

  15. Appreciate your doing this. And yeah, there were people bailing on Darnold after a great Rams game. So satisfying to see commentary that actually reflects what's happening on the field. Sam has been elite this year.

  16. I beleive that if darnold can win a playoff game than the Vikings should resign him. Especially if he shows that he can lead to the team to a playoff win. If we win but he plays bad than that is a different story.

  17. It all depends on what he does these last few games and into the playoffs. Darnold has been absolutely awful in his bad games this season. Against bad teams too. McCarthy is way more athletic and has as strong of an arm. He’s also renowned for his leadership. Your franchise tag Darnold if he finishes really strong and say beats the lions and wins some games in the playoffs,

  18. If maga and trump take away our SS security and Medicare and Medicaid and EBT and Obama care and VA benefits we will resist the needs of the many outweighs the needs of the few 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

  19. We will eventually choke in the end, but it's nice to see the rest of the country get on board for our eventual disappointment. What's in the script THIS year? A blowout win in the wild card gets our hopes to a max level and a late Aaron Jones fumble costs us the divisional round? Maybe it'll be 4th and goal, down by 5, and Bradbury gets blown up and Darnold throws a a perfect pass to Jalen Nailor who drops the football? I feel like that's been done before. How about a missed chip shot FG to win the game? Oh, no….that's been done before too. How do you think the Vikings will choke this time?
