Holy crap this coverage is exhausting. He didn’t sign with the Yankees. We got it.
As a die-hard Yankee fan, I am glad we did not re-sign him. Personally this will be remember as being worse than the Bobby Bonilla contract. Soto is **at best** an average defender meaning when he is 29-30, you will be paying a full time DH $50M – Yankees made the mistake with Stanton and I am glad they will not be repeating it. It is bad because it restricts line-up management.

Take that 50 million and get 3 position players
I love Soto the player and hate this contract. Glad it’s not my team saddled with this commitment but does anyone really believe it will limit the Mets in any way? Cohen has stolen more money than hell ever need and Mets fans are all the better off for it.
Hal better wake up though. The Yankees are not the destination team for free agents they were 20 years ago. They either spend to win or get relegated out of the top ten global sports franchises. That team hasn’t done anything in almost two decades except keep their entire front office intact. Hmm.
Oh no. They exceeded their comfort level. But draw the line at men in beards.
