  1. It’s amazing how with all the struggles we had last season at the plate, here we are yet again talking about pitching. I’m sick of it. We need bats!!

  2. I actually think being the third most notable pitcher on the Dodgers may be a negative for him, at least if he cares about making money going stateside. He’s giving up a fair amount by going over early so sponsorship and endorsement may be a bigger factor.

  3. Well, yeah, he'd be the #1 overall prospect in baseball and you can sign him for like 7m that you were going to spend anyways, he's a priority for every single team.

  4. Understood that a 6 man rotation could be a selling point to ease Sasaki in to the season, but although it makes life easier for Sasaki, it also jerks around the other 5 pitchers who also have their comfort zones and have pitched in 5 man rotations their entire careers. That being said, my dream scenario would be to land Sasaki and then trade Castillo for a bat or two. Maybe that even happens once the season is underway.

  5. The Dodgers have the weakest case. They just won the world series. They proved that 2020 wasn't a fluke. Now the Dodgers should take a step back.

Mariners have the strongest case. If Roki helped the Mariners win the World Series he'd be an instant legend greater than Ichiro.

  6. I don't want the M's to let go of La Piedra, but we seriously need a bat or two in exchange for him.
When it comes to Roki Sasaki, I'm not getting my hopes up like I did in 2017 with Shohei. Hope for the best, expect next to nothing. If he does sign with the M's it will be a pleasant surprise.

  7. I think you could make a good sell to him on the M’s.

Pitcher friendly park lets him get established in the MLB, build a legacy for himself outside of Shohei & Yamamoto. Stay out of the limelight of a big market for a bit while he adjusts. And what better place than Seattle where the general fan base is very supportive and never critical of slumps (outside of social media fans of course).

Then when he hits FA in a few years he can go sign with the dodgers and play with Yamamoto and Ohtani as they’ll still be dodgers. Best of both worlds. Plus the pitcher friendly park might make his stats look a touch better than another park, equaling more $ in FA.

I also delusionally think some players care about legacy and the fact he could be apart of the roster that brings Seattle their first WS ring would be much more legacy setting than just jumping in with the super team whose WS win or bust every year.

  8. I personally love the idea of a 6 man rotation while everyone is healthy. They should lean harder into pitching at this point. Free agency for great hitters is a wash they will not come to seattle unless overpaid which won't happen. I really liked their lineup at the end of last season. Next year the x factor will be robles. If he can keep up the energy and production they could have a solid year offensively

  9. This doesn’t fix the problem. Even if they do sign him, they’re much more like to move to a 6-man rotation than trade a pitcher. You still have holes you have to fill all around your infield and need another high leverage bullpen arm

  10. sign Sasaki… have Stanton open up his wallet and dish out about $30 mil, trade Luis(throw in one of the Mitches) for a AS bat(1B or 3B), sign Turner or Santander..then you would have a better rotation(younger), your lineup isnt hit n miss… we could dominate for next 5-6 seasons(during that time..our prospects start coming up and hopefully producing)…i want to bring a banner that says..i'll have a double of Colt n Cole 😁👌👌

  11. If they do get him, moving Woo becomes much more palatable. The drop-off from Woo to Hancock is much less than the drop-off from Castillo to Hancock.
