Juan Soto’s first 7 years vs Mike Trout’s first 7 years

  1. I feel like you’re trying to make some sort of a point with this…but can’t figure out what it is.

If Trout was a free agent after year 7 this offseason he’d have gotten a billion dollar contract. He was on pace to be a top 5 player all-time easily before the injuries

  2. I do believe that Soto is overrated ! He is a below average fielder and I worry about his effects as a teammate.

  3. Yeah…now show where it actually matters…in the post season where Mike Trout is absolutely abysmal and Juan Soto actually performs very well.

  4. Based on WAR and Soto’s contract, Trout could have netted 1.342 billion over 15 years.

  5. Trout didn’t go to free agency. He signed an extension for 12 years – $426.5 million/$35.5 a year

  6. He still gets on base at a higher clip…………………………………………………………………………………………………….

  7. As much as I want to give Trout his flowers, the Mariners fan in me can only respectfully say…

    Fuck Mike Trout.

  8. Good job, angels! /s You just suck at making MT’s career matter in the postseason. Couldn’t even trade him to Philly and join Harper like you should’ve done years ago whilst he was healthy enough.

  9. It’s not really a fair comparison. Trout is a full, five tool player, while Soto is a a one dimensional player, a slow, negative defending power hitter. While WAR includes defensive performance, I am not a huge fan of the approach. So don’t forget that Trout is a far superior defender than is Soto.

  10. The Angels should change their name to “The Soul Stealing Devils” cuz god damn they stole mike’s soul and whole career.
If Mike went to a better team he would have at least 1 or 2 rings by now, maybe more.
Thanks the baseball gods Othani got the fuck out of there as soon as he got the opportunity.

  11. I mean comparing anyone to Trout in the early going with most likely look this way. He is an all time goat who he only slowed from injuries and not playing. Even last we saw him he was dominating. Dude is unreal
