Blake Snell, Max Fried, Corbin Burnes stats compared

  1. I remember watching Burnes’ debut against the Marlins in 2018. He pitched brilliantly but in his post game interview it was clear he was fixated on spiking one particular curveball. I knew then that he was a madman, the kind of madman that pursues greatness with a single-minded conviction. I think it makes him a bit of a headcase, but damn what a great pitcher. Miss him on the Brew Crew, it sucks how they handled him in arbitration made him sour on the team.

  2. Call me crazy, but I don’t want a guy with an 11% walk rate when his fastball loses a few ticks in his mid-late 30s…

  3. As a 90s kid, my hate for the Yankees was immeasurable. However that rivalry has cooled significantly and now I can say I prefer Fried going to the Yankees over say the Dodgers. Hope he does well, although I still want the Yankees to lose.

  4. I love that this whole “Snell is elite!” Thing consistently comes up. His walk rate is almost double the other two. Idk, maybe I’ll be wrong and he’ll turn it around. But I think Snell is the greatest fraud of an “elite” pitcher of all time.
