Did we win this trade?

  1. His profile never fit Wrigley Field which had a bad year weather-wise with wind blowing in and the deepest left field line in baseball. Rays clearly knew something with him because he was struggling going into the trade deadline and in Chicago Paredes never amounted to much sadly.

  2. Great trade for Astros. Their park is perfect for him to hit home runs. And they weren’t planning on bringing Tucker back.

I still have no clue what either team was thinking for the Paredes trade. Morel looked awful last year and Wrigley Stadium doesn’t fit Paredes at all.

But I guess we got a good reliever, our least needed commodity.

  3. I went to a Cubs game this year in Chicago and got to see him homer there too. Wishing him good luck though even if he is on the Astros now.

  4. Great landing spot for Paredes, he’s going to put a lot of balls into the Crawford boxes in left. I wonder if this means the Astros will not pursue Bregman?

  5. Good for him. I still wish we didn’t end up trading Paredes for Morel though. We got rid of a good hitter for someone who can’t hit

  6. I have no idea why the Rays didn’t hit up Houston to give them Paredes. Like, there’s no way Morel was the best ML-ready “bat” they could get.
