  1. That game was nuts, neither team could miss until the 4th quarter. Walker opening with two 3s really set the tone lol. Overall a really great effort from the Jazz, not much to complain about in this one.

Keyonte has looked terrific as of late, he even had some great defensive stretches tonight. Still need a bigger sample, but my optimism is growing with him every game.

Also… man, I forgot how fun Clarkson is to watch when he’s cooking.

  2. The fact that we weren’t able to get Lauri, our star player, more than ***9*** FGAs this game is just insane to me. Like I’m honestly not even sure who’s at fault there.

  3. Good tank loss: froze out Markkanen, Kessler & Clarkson after they were on fire the first half, young guys got some reps, Collier & Keyonte minutes looked good, Clarkson & Collins trade value went up. Only downside was Sexton and Juzang looked awful.

  4. Shades of opening night, losing a high scoring match. Proud of the effort from the guys, here’s my thoughts individually.

Lauri – Was hot early but didn’t get many shots up in the second half and was a bit cold. Feel like the game could’ve gone to the wire had he scored better second half. He’s looking sharper post injury though so hopefully this is a good sign moving forward.

John – Windmill dunk and a good game overall to match. Filled up the stat sheet and was +1 on the court. Can’t imagine too many non stars playing better than him in his position in the league this season.

Walker – Opened the game up with two surprising threes, something we could use to open the floor up more. He wasn’t his usual self on the boards and I felt that culminated in some second chance opportunities for the Suns which normally wouldn’t have happened.

Collin – Just couldn’t get going, not a good game from him today. Had two really nice passes in the third quarter where I felt he was ready to get hot but it wasn’t to be.

Keyonte – Really starting to show that he belongs as a lead guard in the league. Has some bad pass moments at times but any guard in the league does that. Overall he was hustling hard on defense and taking good shots, a completely different player to the one we saw at the start of the season.

Brice – 3 threes in 12 minutes. Thought he earned fourth quarter minutes over Juzang but it wasn’t to be. Doesn’t do much of anything else but as someone pointed out in the game thread, in a lineup where he just needs to stand still and shoot, he’s very effective. If he played against the Jazz Boler and Thur would be saying he’s good at that “one thing”.

Jordan – Gave us that bench scoring that we have lacked massively. Great to see he was on form immediately after coming back from injury. Closed the game and played 30 minutes, hopefully he continues this level of play.

Isaiah – Solid in his minutes. Wasn’t too erratic and buzzed around on defense like Patty, getting a steal off Durant when doubling. Nice lob pass afterwards to John Collins. +3 on the court, nice to see him make a positive impact in limited time.

Kyle – 14 minutes but looked good. +5 on the court and buried his three in the corner. Expect his minutes to go up as he feels better post injury. Taken the place of Drew in the rotation and rightly so.

Johnny – Made a 3 but didn’t have any impact in other aspects of the game. 12 minutes, + – of 0.

Coach Hardy – Had the offense flowing and closed with the hot hand of Clarkson over Sexton which I liked. Will be pleased to have Kyle and Jordan back from injury. Perhaps will look at taking Walker out a little bit earlier in the fourth so that the guys can switch 1 through 5, it was difficult to do that with the ATO of Nurkic screening Lauri for the KD 3. Will be pleased with the effort of the team.

Clippers up next, hope to see the same competitiveness from the group.

  5. I apologize for the lack of game notes. Work has been too crazy with the holidays and I haven’t been able to watch. Should be starting back up shortly!

  6. This some BS Kessler had 6 rebounds tonight they showed 6 on Google and ESPN stats but then changed it to 5

  7. Kinda frustrating Coach Hardy closing games out with these three guard rotations when Flip is healthy right now, and we needed defensive stops which Flip is probably our best Forward when it comes to defending big time players.
