Not going to help. Both goalies are backups at best. No defense on Colorado.
I love that Colby called himself out for plugging his show something like 4 times within 4 minutes. Cheers to you, Sir 👏🏽
Well, the Avs and Blackwood are the real winners. A late 2nd round pick doesnt seem that great for a playoff ready goalie.
Kovalenko has been outplayed by younger prospects.
That was definitely a “marek stat”
Coming from SJ, Avs got a tender with an over 90% save percent. Think about it. That is a very solid stat coming from a team with a bad record like SJ, so imagine his potential on a better team and defense.
Mike Grier is, by far, the absolute worst GM in NHL history. What kind of a moron trades not one, but two Norris Cup winners, trades a forty goal scorer and many, many other quality NHL professionals. Mike Grier is a DEI hire, has no management experience and shows his incompetence every day as every other team takes advantage of his inability to compete in a very competitive league.
Mike Grier is trying to intentionally lose. He is a joke.
Cleary the avs…they needed a goalie.
AVS fan here,& I agree that this will end up being win/win for both teams. I'm very happy as Colorado fan but I'd be very happy also if I was SJ fan.
Id say both teams win, georgiev good for askarov , kovalenkovmight have a handful of good years in him plus a 2nd for a goalie they got for nothing amd wernt gonna resign and a goon that can barely skate
I think the Avs got a 91% goalie rather cheap. The Avs 2nd rounder is likely a pick around 50th overall, not a very good pick.
To not pay a 1st to fix their goalie spot, is really good.
SJS is one of the worst teams in the league, to get a 91SV% there is really good.
Avs were desperate for a goalie, i don`t think they overpaid and the comparison with the Allen trade is not good. As SJS had to take another lousy year of Georgievs contract.
Actually i rate it win for the Avs, i was sure it would cost them a 1st to get a goalie.
I think the sharks move on from Georgiev to obtain more picks I mean, that's the move, right? You got your 2 goalies in vanecek and askarov, so go grab the draft capital for a player you dont really need
much like the byram trade i think its a win win trade. seems like joe and cmac cant fleece folks on demand anymore.
Grier should’ve waited until Feb/March to make this move
Sharks fan here, I don't mind the trade given that Blackwood is a UFA at the end of the season and it feels like he wasn't going to re-sign with the Sharks. Grier could've waited, but I don't think there's a team more desperate for a goaltender than Colorado. Picks are solid, a late 2nd and a late 5th. Kovalenko being on the roster helps the Sharks justify keeping someone like Collin Graf or Ethan Cardwell down in the AHL for now. B- trade imo, but I'm biased
All I know is not having to clinch my a-hole every time Georgiev is in net and the puck is remotely near our defensive zone is a win for me.
Sharks needed to trade vanacek not blackwood
Georgiev has potential, i think he can turn out great
Neither have played a game for their respective team. Jumping the gun a bit. Do a video in a month and evaluate the trade.
Georgiev can improve with a new team sharks did Avs a favor to me this whole trade is a win/win
justice??? 'hue-tis' man…
