Speedy fourth liner on Petey’s wing? Welcome back Sam Lafferty
This was not the DPS line we wanted
PDG is back at Abby and causing chaos. Pls bring him back for the love of god.
I’m all for Sasson doing well. But Sherwood is good in that position, why not develop synergy and just work on the fucking line for once and develop some plays together?
Sasson shouldn’t be given top line minutes all of a sudden though, it screams Hail Mary as if Tochett doesn’t know what else to do.
Shaking up one winger as if it’s some big solution every time is getting exhausting.
Seems like skills coaches and Tochett are just out of ideas for making plays, and throwing the players under the bus when they’re out there confused with who’s doing what on offence and just default to cycling and passing. There’s no cues or head up plays, nobody getting open in the slot or losing their man to get open.
Tochett literally said “we had one play we wanted to do against Boston, and didn’t do it”
We need to have MULTIPLE plays ready in the chamber for when the situations arise. Not just dump, chase, cycle, puck battle, puck retrieve, cycle, shoot from outside.
Just gotta make some passes and practice shooting from the slot, have some players support for a pass to drive the net when we are along the boards.
The lanes are open, the space on the ice is there when opposition is countering our cycling and dump and chase. It’s just not “Tochetts predictable hockey”
Multiple low shot games and periods and breaking records for low shot period is enough proof in the pudding.
I just don’t think Tochett has ever been able to coach offence. It has always been defence first.
Let’s hope Rutherford sets this straight.
This could be a problem. Demko is still recovering so he isn’t playing great (he isn’t playing poorly either, just not great) and Silovs is obviously not the solution. I hope Lankinen comes back soon.
I like that bottom six, hope they play hungry
Hogs isn’t likely to be in a Canucks uniform for much longer. He’s been gifted some great opportunities but just hasn’t been able to produce or make an impression. It’s pretty telling when Sasson is on Petey’s wing at practice after they just got pummeled 5-1.
Might just be a case of getting Lankinen the extra rest.
Even if he’s at 95% healthy, may as well let Silovs get the practice reps.
Can’t be too comfortable in practice when Grandpa Jim “Ruthless” Rutherford is watching. No one except Hughes is safe from the chopping block.
The players we re-signed to big contracts haven’t lived up to expectations like Petey, Joshua, and Hoglander.
Hoglander is an excellent 3rd line player nothing more nothing less, but everyone either thinks he’s a potential top 6 star or a 4th line plug.
Dude should be stapled to the 3rd line on a multi-year contract and have a job description that reads: get the puck deep, cause havoc on forecheck, don’t try fancy passes, get puck to net
It’s been years now where the org and fans try to pretend he is something he is not, and become disappointed with the results
It’s blowing my mind that we arent reuniting Blueger with Garland and Joshua.
We’ve tried Suter, Lindholm, Petey with Joshua/Garland but the truth is that this isn’t a duo, it’s a trio. Blueger is a majour part of it, and thats why he’s driving play on other lines.
I also think it’s time to slap Petey and Miller on the same line, and use that as a method of forcing them to learn how to work together. We keep seeing Petey
That gives us a top 6.
Put Suter on the third line with DeBrusk and Hoglander
Fourth line could then be Heinen, Sasson and Sherwood. Sasson is doing well, but we also want to see if the natural center can play down the middle in the NHL. He’s got the speed for it.

Rutherford is about to get some triggers pulled.
I wouldn’t be shocked if he traded Demko.
