8. Canucks are moving down the board, were they traditionally belong. How sad, but like all previous team members they get high then high and fall to the bottom. Thank you and have a good day.

9. As a Stars fan (live in DFW and attend games), 12th seems almost generous. The team can be brilliant and a contender to take the cup. But they’re inconsistent as hell. And Steve Spott sucks.

10. Ok so, strange question-both of the Caps goalies are left handed stuck side. Is this the correct way to describe that? I am not aware of a team where both goalies were left handed stick side-anyone remember a team like that? Also-is this an advantage or disadvantage? Does it depend on what “hand” the offensive players are? Do teams game plan for this? Just wondering.

12. proof that your team can do a 180 and either go hero to zero (Rangers), or zero to hero (Caps). Why the NHL is the best sports league in the world.

13. Please keep Buffalo 32nd until further notice. We are pretty much an AHL franchise at this point. If the owner would be hands off just write checks we might have a chance. The GM's have just been yes men with no backbone to tell Terry to shove it. The new young guys are thrown to the wolves without the chance to develop in Rochester because they are supposed to save this team immediately.

15. My only explanation for Florida is that they don’t care about Vancouver and Calgary and thus didn’t show up for either game. The game I think they will show up for is Monday night with the cup final rematch against the oilers. I’m bringing out the popcorn for that one.

    Granted I didn’t watch the Vancouver game but they didn’t seem to be trying to hard against the flames.

23. Jets being 9th is a good spot. The power rankings don't reflect just the standings, but the current team play and the jets haven't shown up every game recently.

24. So, the "Island of Misfit Toys" are #1 on Shannon's weekly Power Rankings. The question now is, how many people – outside of Caps fans – are willing to pick them for the Cup? Yea… I didn't think so.

25. Caps are deserving of the top spot this week. Still a lot of hockey to play, but they are absolutely rolling. LFG!

27. The Rangers won the Presidents Trophy last season and on paper should be better this season. Drury sold their heart and soul (players) for cap space. Heart, soul, and drive wins a lot more games than cap space. This job is supposed to be fun and the Rangers are defeated before they get on the ice. Big contracts are as much handcuffs on a team as they are a noose to the player if they aren’t meeting expectations. The moves weren’t wrong; the methods were downright disrespectful, and the tide won’t turn until camaraderie is restored in the locker room.

29. Sometimes it just doesnt make sense. Jets went 2-0-1 this week, are presently 1st overall in the nhl and you have them in the 2nd row. The Panthers barely beat SJ and beat Seattle in a SO…WOW! Then got shutout by Calgary and Vancouver…and are 10th overall. Major head-scratcher there. Make it make sense.

30. I’m interested to see where Tampa is after their games in hand.

31. I think if the Devils win the next 3 of 4 they should be #3, but right now not sure. I’d say top 5 they have tons of potential

32. Capitals sitting at number one, just as everyone predicted coming into the year I’m sure.

    This is also a team that’s been down their best player for weeks now and are barely phased by that, which is just insane to think about.
