Another AAAA pickup for your 2025 4th place pirates.
December 16, 2024
I can’t wait for the comments on how this guys AAA numbers project him as a late bloomer who will ultimately be a cross between Mike Trout and Ronald Acuna. Hahah

Yall really just don’t know what AAA depth is, huh?
Some of you desperately need to go touch grass if you’re spazzing out about AAA additions.
Being a Pirates fan is hard enough already. People like you make it worse, complaining about every little thing that has nothing to do with the main team.
Solak is probably AAA depth at this point, but: he came out of a powerful NCAA Division I baseball program at the University of Louisville, and he has had sporadic success at the major league level. No, he isn’t going to lead us to the promised land, but as some have mentioned, signings like this are standard operating procedure for major league baseball teams. Guys like this will occasionally outperform expectations, and in the meantime there is no harm in having them at Indianapolis.
Everyone needs to take a breath on the free-agency acquisitions
The teams who throw out big-money deals are still handing out contracts.
Upper tier players ARE NOT going to sign with the Pirates right now unless we severely overpay them.
Also, players are waiting for guys like Corbin Burnes and Alex Bregman to sign because they’re the ones who set the free agent market more than someone like Juan Soto who is more of an aberration.
It’s getting hard to figure out if this sub suffers from excessive trolls, or the overwhelming reddit fanbase just doesn’t understand the business of baseball, let alone the Pirates’ business of baseball.
