  1. Glad that’s cleared up. Cro took the time to answer and explain the details and it sounds like it would make more sense

Yandle was a teen at the time? Took it too sensitively probably?

    Both scenarios could be true

  2. I actually believe Cronin here. I don’t think it would be too difficult to say something like “I was a new inexperienced coach and took things a bit too personally and I might have gone too far with my disappointment. I regret the way I handled the situation.” Instead, he’s claiming none of it happened at all. It’s not like if he admits to it and apologizes, anything bad will happen. There is no reason to lie about this unless he has such a big ego that he can’t handle ever admitting to a mistake ever. I find this explanation by him to be more likely and maybe Yandle got him mixed up with a recruiter.

  3. I don’t believe him for a second. Exactly the sort of bullshit generic response from the archives of the Good Ol’ Boys club. Get Cronin gone

  4. Yandle has been yelled at by one coach on the phone, the coach has yelled at lots of players. I’m sure Yandle’s side of the story is more accurate.

  5. We probably won’t ever know the truth on this. But it feels like there’s a lot of random stuff in his answer – wouldn’t a “I didn’t take recruiting calls, Brendan Walsh was the recruiter” have been a simpler answer if that was the case?

I mean he probably can’t remember it – I definitely don’t recall every player I’ve spoken to 20 years ago. But the answer he gave just feels evasive to me

  6. I mean whether he’s lying or not, this was 20 years ago and he could’ve changed an astronomical amount since then. He also wasn’t even a professional coach yet. So even if it did happen, this has nothing to do with the ducks or how he is now.

  7. This was 20 years ago who cares. Until a current ducks player who’s been on this roster for a whole season under Cronin and has been on the ducks for a while says something, I could care less.
