[The 33rd Team] Sam Howell had 5 Net Yards vs. the Packers. That is the 9th worst game by a QB with 15+ Dropbacks in any game since 2000 šŸ˜¬ That ranks 13,004th out of 13,012

  1. Geno might not be elite-level but Sam’s MEGA ass. Let’s hope that Geno can come back next week because otherwise? Woof.

  2. I meanā€¦thatā€™s kind of a bullshit stat. I bet can find 15 consecutive drop backs from a lot of qbs with similar net yardage. The thing is those qbs had longer time in the game to turn things around.

Edit:look at Russell Wilsonā€™s week this week. First five drives, net negative yardage for him when dropping back and for the offense as a whole.

Edit2: damn yā€™all some salty motherfuckers. Iā€™m not even defending Howell, Iā€™m saying that as a data scientist this use of ā€˜statisticsā€™ is everything thatā€™s wrong with click bait media these days.

  3. Heā€™s complete dogshit. People with half a brain knew this already though. The people in the off-season trying to play mental gymnastics saying he was good and that the trade was a good trade was hilarious.

  4. People from Snohomish gotta stop demanding Sam Howell should be playing.

Dude is turbo cheeks and your racism is showing or you know negative ball if you truly think he should be playing barring Genoā€™s health.

  5. Jesus guys he’s been on the bench for 4 months. Chill out let him get some first team reps before we kill him.

  6. Geno is absolutely not the long term future of this franchise. His turnovers and horrific redzone efficiency keeps us from being legitimate Super Bowl contenders whether this sub wants to admit it or not. There are well over a dozen QBs in the league weā€™d be better off with.

    HOWEVER

Sam Howell sure as fuck isnā€™t one of them. Iā€™m not even sure thereā€™s a QB in this draft class thatā€™s a better option.

Itā€™s all around a shitty spot to be in.

  7. Yeah it looked like it was that bad too. Iā€™m sorry but he played so bad I havenā€™t seen a qb play that badly in years. He looked like he wanted to cry and had no confidence at all. I hope for the best for him but our 3rd string might be worth a shot tbh lol

  8. Sam was B.A.D. last night, but TBH Grubb’s play calling when Sam was out there really wasn’t any better. Why weren’t we running the ball more and calling plays to get him out of a pocket that’s just gonna collapse immediately with our sorry excuse for an Oline.Ā

I’m willing to give Sam a mulligan for last night. He played MILES better against us last year. I doubt he gets many “1st team” reps in practice (as if we have a “1st” team Oline šŸ˜) but even a week of focused practice with the starters has to help. Geno’s still QB1 if he’s able to play, but Sam has the be considerably better than what he showed against the Packers.

  9. He may not be the answer, but I refuse to accept heā€™s actually that bad, if given a full week with first team reps. A lot of you need to chill. Our offensive line has been a disaster for over a decade, until thatā€™s actually addressed no qb on the roster is going to be safe from personal errors.

  10. I canā€™t believe people seriously suggested he start over Geno. Like did ANY of those people watch the Commanders last year?

Yeah letā€™s start a QB thatā€™s known for holding on to the ball too long behind this offensive line. Brilliant move. GM-worthy.

  11. Iā€™m honestly surprised the guy with the most interceptions in the league last year did so bad /s

  12. I hope to see more creative run plays this coming week. Need Kenneth Walker back and just use all 3 backs. Try running from all directions.

  13. Bradyā€™s first sub was 1 for 6 passing and I think his first start he had 2 pick sixesā€¦ NOT saying heā€™s Bradyā€¦. But what qb looks great behind a struggling line down three scores? Seriously?

  14. Howell looks short and fat. I donā€™t think he can see over the OLine unless they have already been pancaked by the defensive line.

  15. I try to not read too much into a QB coming cold into a game, since he has little prep, but the way he just folded into the collapsing pocket tells me heā€™s not meant for our flaws.

  16. this is stupid. we shouldn’t expect anything from him until he actually earns the starter job. I think he’s capable but it’s doesn’t matter unless he shows the goods to the coaches

  17. The eagles Seahawks game winning drive from last year popped up on my YouTube page today and it REALLY made me miss Drew Lock.

  18. This was as much or more on Grubb than on Howell. Grubb didn’t change the game plan for Howell’s abilities and the situation at hand. With 10min left, why pretty much abandon the run? Why so few pulled counter runs (one which went for a TD) which worked so well last week, and instead keep calling passing plays locked in the pocket that Howell repeatedly failed at in practice.
