I’ve seen people I trust say that Thuney played great and I’ve seen people I trust say he played like absolute garbage. I’m becoming increasingly convinced that no one actually knows how to evaluate o-line play.
I guess on paper he did below average, but the eye test tells me he did great. I feel like if Humphries came out and did exactly what Thuney did, we’d be saying “so this is what a real LT is supposed to look like.”
It is very funny to see this sub simultaneously say the line played awful and that’s why Mahomes looked rough yesterday AND also that actually the line played great lol.
Stepped up and gave it a shot. Did the team a solid. Game ball indeed.
I think he did about as well as he could. But he’s not the answer at tackle. And it hurt our interior run game not having him at guard. He’s not long enough or athletic enough for the edge. I think you have to pray Humphries gets back or start Wanya again and play a run first/play action game. Wanya is a good run blocker, so that may have to just be the answer.
