Braves just cheap wake up
Yep!
Jake , Listening to you from the Philippines and your honest appraisal of the braves present and future needs .
Compared to the other ball clubs add salaries where are the Atlanta braves I know they're above 200 million but what about the other teams are the braves and the top third.
I'd much rather have Orlando Arcia at 2.4 million a year than a barely average Dansby Swanson at 25.25 million a year.
I don’t think there’s a better time than now to reset. We could still win the division this year with our current crew!
SP and OFer from Asia still available, Trade for Bo can still happen but maybe mid year… Kim, both of them are available… SP are still out there. Not over till the roster is full…
What are we doing? Our windows is open and we aren't going for it. Damn!
Just getting that feeling that the organization is beginning to have a small downfall. Braves got the Battery, World Series, and now all star game. Terry McGurik might be putting the brakes on how high the payroll goes from here on out.
Let’s spend a decent amount of SMART MONEY. The Yankees are Yank’ing again. Spending a billion dollars with little strategy
Tarik Skubal will be a Brave (I am delusional)
What about we get Gavin Lux? He’s a shortstop and he’s good.
The question about who is better Matt Olson or Freddie freeman and how much the Braves lost isn’t a fair straight up answer. Freeman is 35 and getting older which is getting out of prime years for baseball. Olson is only 30 which in baseball 5 years is a lot.
So the 30 years old Olson that since 2019 is 4th in all of baseball in home runs and 2nd in runs batter during that time is the better value and bet over the next 6 years. Olson 30-36 years the next 6 years he is signing for based solely on Father time are going be more productive than freeman’s next 36 years age 35 through 41 seasons if he plays that long.
Olson should finish his career with close to 500 home runs and most of his prime years in Atlanta.
Yet; the major difference isn’t what is lost between them it’s the fact that one decided to test the free agent market and one signed long term without ever testing the market.
I keep hearing that the Braves won’t spend but why? Are they broke? Why don’t the Braves have a good farm system? Isn’t that AA job? Sorry I just don’t get the AA hype. If he was so great why is it all shopping in the bargain bin! Why is the farm system one of the worst farm system in the league? Seems to me he is failing at his job
if it means the difference between going for players like tucker, cease, or gallen next offseason it is 100% smart to do so. this team is good enough to compete as constructed this year. it's not like there's many FA pitching options left anyway, if AA does make a move it will probably be for a controllable cheaper piece in a trade.
I trust Chipper over AA!
The lack of prospects is concerning as we are not sure about the money that could be spent. The Braves World Series window is passing and it seems like there is no sense of urgency to do what needs to be done to be as competitive as possible. I'm a Braves fan and always will be but our time is now to go for it and we just have a few seasons left.
not sure if a trade is possible but I really like Steven Kwan
I just believe aa is being patient and looking for the right move and added depth isn't s bad thing
I also believe some of the young guys will step up and have bigger roles this coming season
Story is a no go he can't stay healthy at all a huge risk
