[Tom Pelissero] Each of the four competing teams in the NFL Holiday Remix – the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers – will wear this festive, holiday-inspired uniform patch during their games on Saturday and again on Christmas Day.

  1. Hell yeah, that’ll help all four playoff teams prevent mass injuries going into the last week of the season

  2. Fuck the NFL for this ridiculous stunt. Let these guys rest. Merry Christmas, here’s your injuries boys! Goodell’s a moron.

  3. Oh good. My YouTube tv price gouge raise to pay for the NFLs out of control spending doesn’t feel as bad now.

  4. Not only are they running the guys into the ground, now they are doing another obvious cash grab aside from the game.

“Here buy this $200 jersey that you already have, but with a candy cane patch!”

  5. The fact that there are Christmas games at all is bonkers.

These guys have families. Yes, they’re ridiculously compensated. But a lot of them have children and you don’t get that time back.

Fuck the NFL. We can all wait a couple days for a normal game around the holidays.

  6. No thought to whether this gives the NFC the advantage with 4 of 7 AFC playoff teams having a much higher risk of injuries with this debacle of a schedule?

  7. in the next CBA the players should really negotiate something like games only on Friday – Monday, teams must have 5 days between games and no more than 2 games in a 14 day period. plus an extra bye week and bye weeks must be 6(?) weeks apart.

I don’t care about Thanksgiving football. I don’t care that other levels of FB play Friday and Saturday. I would even be ok with Sunday Monday and Tuesday are game days and the league week end on a Tuesday.

BUT I am also a “nfl teams should have their own jv/b/ developmental team with their own 8 to 10 game schedule” guy.

  8. Won’t be watching. I should never have to see my football team play on a Wednesday, let alone on Christmas (again). Just hoping no one gets seriously injured after 4 measly days of rest

  9. That ought to protect them from injury, right?

Maximizing profits at the expense of worker safety is the corporate/american way.

Goodell is treating NFL stars like Wal-Mart employees, LOL. Think about that shit.

I shouldn’t be saying this shit, but what will it take for the league to lay off the gas with all the extreme monetization tactics?

I mean, if you think about it – what genius thinks that the NFL will be popular in Brasil, or any other country where Soccer rules? Is it that Goodell wants private equity to fully move into league ownership (they’ve already started) and extract as much worth of the league until they can no longer? Run it into the ground like private equity has always done?

at this point a strike is inevitable.

    So under Goodell’s watch:

    1)gambling became legal, encouraged

2)private equity has moved into football

  10. If Christmas is on a Tuesday or Wednesday in the future they need to never do this again. I’d even almost argue a Thursday but we’re already too far gone with TNF.

This isn’t just dangerous for the players’ health, it’s shitty for all the stadium employees who have to be there for multiple hours before AND after. It’s shitty for fans who wanna spend time with their family before games since they’re both early. It’s just shit.

  11. This all definitely makes up for playing 3 games in 10 and will instantly heal every player’s body, truly a miracle of science.

  12. Don’t worry, they’ll still be sure to fine any player who has unapproved holiday-themed cleats!
