  2. so what if ben johnson doesn't work out firing ap will put us behind the divison badly ben johnson hasn't been a player in the league non a head coach thru his whole career coaching , do yah homework ben was wit the lions 2 years before dan campell got there and they didn't do shit and his first year wit dan was decent but building block type year ,
    giving an first time head coach ( that won a super bowl ring undrafted player and has been a head coach at least once thru his coaching career ) gardner minshaw + aidan two solid backups his first run is insaneee then say he the problem is wilder, uncle tom oblivous has a plan of his own so lets run it and see the results of his madness , the players play hard for ap they trust him respect the 2 years in the contract plus mark saves money might be a come up on his end after its all said and done

  3. If someone has character, is a team player and balls on the Field, looking primarily for "traits" gets in the way of the evaluation process every time.

  5. Historically offensive minded coaches and play callers have a better track record. But Belichek and Tomlin were defensive coaches, John Harbaugh was a special teams coach. All three have had tremendous success at HC. It goes deeper than play calling. The HC needs to be a leader. Being a leader requires decisions to be made on offense and defense. Putting systems in place for a franchise to be successful. The HC needs to know live and breath the offense. SO if something happens, he can take over and not miss a beat. They need to have a playbook that stays with the team, so if and when the OC moves on, the offense doesn't miss a beat. Having a staff you promote from within. So when the OC moves on, the QB coach or the WR coach or RB coach is next in line. Exactly the opposite of what the Raiders have done for 40 years. This is a copy cat league, yet teams don't copy the successful team when it comes to coaching. They copy all the bad ideas and implement them

  6. I like AP. I think he's the man for the job. In a season riddled with injuries, no QB, no RB and a bad OC, we were still in position to win most of the games we lost. On top of the fact that we're obviously tanking. And if they decide to move on, they should definitely keep him around in some fashion. The players respect him.

  7. Settle down, coming from another teams practice squad doesn’t make you explosive. He’s filling a hole through end of the season. I doubt he’s in running to take a spot.

    As for coaching candidates, there is no guarantee any coach will succeed. Pierce has managed to go from bad under McDaniels to worse. No guarantee Ben Johnson will succeed, nor Kubiak. Look at Norv Turner, great coordinator, not good as head coach. Wade Phillips, same thing. Buddy Ryan. It’s a gamble on HC. Problem today is so many OCs need “their system and their guy.” But once out of system, they freeze. As a result, they fail, get canned and another comes in starting all over again. And it goes on.

U can not be further from the truth, u have no idea what kinda coach Ben Johnson will be, he can quite possibly be the next Norvel Turner, a great offensive mind, a good OC, but a terrible HC as he Turner was for us, and many other teams, i think, but im not sure, ypu were on that Eberflus train, saying how good he would be as a HC

  16. Will you please STFU about Jalen Carter? He isn't in any of the other guys you mentioned league. Yes he has had some success in Philly, but he wouldn't have had that success on any other team. He needed his old Georgia teammates to ease hum into the NFL.

  17. Unreal how all of theses Raiders fans want AP fire. Give him a chance 1 year with no QB no running back and a lot of injury is not good. NO coach could had got this team to the playoff. Tom Tel did not give AP what he wanted. Ben Johnson will be a rookie head coach as will and he will make some rookie mistake. If we dont keep AP. Don't forget where Tom Tel came from. Let me Remind you. He came from the LA Chargers and He's head coach was Brandon Staley. If Raiders fire AP. Tom Tel is Going call he's buddy Brandon Staley so be careful for what you ask for.   23. Insider report? I don't think that reporter has done no research. Here is why. If she said this prior to Mark Davis saying both AP and Telesco will be evaluated separately then I can see some turth to it. But saying this after the fact is lazy journalism… don't believe the hyoe…

  25. Great play callers are not the answer. Ask Shannon and Daniels on how their team is doing? Ask OCs from Houston, Saints, and Kingsbury. All are having issues. Its the will of the players that make a team good and not a play caller.. reach the players first and everything else will follow…

  27. Ben Johnson is not guaranteed to be a great HC lol He’s no different than Josh McDaniels the first time around when he got hired by the broncos. Coaches are a crapshoot too the best thing you can do is evaluate the coaching tree they come from and Ben comes from the Joe Philbin/Adam Gase tree 2 individuals that were known as great play callers but failed miserably as HCs.

  34. Do you think Ben Johnson is a better OC than Norv Turner was? Well, Norv Turner was a great OC and a terrible head coach. The same is true about Josh Mcdaniels. You speak as if Ben Johnson or any other unproven HC is gonna be the answer for the Raiders. I think Mark will allow AP another year to continue building towards his vision.

  37. Man… as much as I agree that we must secure the next great coach if available…. It would be so messed up to have AP tank us all the way to the first overall pick just to axe him after he did what he was asked.

  40. The Raiders are a fucking Joke. Even a 1st round draft pick won’t help them. No proper coaching staff, stupid inept players doing stupid things. The team will remain on the decline until two things happen: Mark Davis falls on his sword and sells the team . 2. The Raiders get the Hell out of Vegas and find a REAL home with Real fans
    Presently, the stadium is filled with opposing fans watching their favorite team beat the Raiders.
    These will never happen so I’m guessing about a decade or so before the Raiders become competitive again.
    I’ve been a fan since 1975 and this is worst team I have EVER witnessed. A complete and utter embarrassment to the Raider Legacy

  41. Mark Davis will probably move off of AP after next year. AP still has the locker room and their playing hard on defense so AP will coach out his contract if not for any other reason the Raiders have fired too many coaches than hire a the like josh McDaniel's and Lane Kiffin who was really bad. Both of these new hires set back the Raiders many years of loss players in the locker room. At least the Raiders are building now with Telesco will gave a better draft pick to get a QB even if its Sanders. We should keep the Turners see how they do with a full season. Even if we have another bad season we are still building with Telesco calling the shots. We all know change off the Raiders way never works remember Shanahan was the Raiders new coach he tried to change the Raiders way Al Davis had to fire him. Stick to what works for the Raiders that's AP at least for another year.
