Retaining Scott Laughton this season should be an easy decision for Flyers

I hope we trade everyone not named Matvei if the price is massive. If some team wants to overpay for laughton you let them have him. We should be doing what the rangers are doing who has a similar record.
I love the guy but the only reason he is still around is because no one has been willing to pay our asking price at deadline for a 3rd/4th line center for a playoff run.
If someone wants to give us a 1st round pick for him it would be negligent for Briere and Jonesy to not take the deal but I doubt it will happen.
He should have been traded at least 2 years ago
It’s an easy decision for the Flyers because the market continues to tell us he’s not worth whatever we’ve demanded in return at the last few trade deadlines.
Scott Laughton is a great Flyer, but just a serviceable player.
Too many fans think of only on ice performance. He’s a guy that if you get rid of, the team will be legitimately sad. He’s the definition of a glue guy. He’s teaching the kids how to play right. I don’t have to read this article to know it’s a no brainer to keep him. He is universally loved.
Trading him results in a much lower boom rating. Almost as important as Corsi.

If he’s worth anything you have to move him. Always been a fan of Laughton but this team is in serious trouble and needs to be hoarding assets.
They don’t *have* to move him, but if they get a good offer they *should*. But they probably won’t
Half the commenters in the flyers sub have never been liked on a sports team in their life. It’s so telling.
Easily one of the most consistent, likable Flyers in recent memory.
Sean Walker got traded here and we turned around and got a first for him before he put down roots in the community.
Laughton is the complete opposite. Drafted by us. Played his whole career here. HUGE community activist. Alternate captain. Locker room loves him. Just had a baby.
The message to the team and league couldn’t be more different trading away Walker vs Laughton.
I think Briere is smart to be asking for a boatload for Laughton. It’s a win-win. Either you send a good message to the team and league by keeping him or you get offered a boatload and you take it.
