Good luck Austin. I’m getting stadium fatigue from all of this.
lol the Rays are a joke ! Socialize the debts and privatize the profits! GTFOH
The Rays have not breached. The county has not breached. The commissioner of baseball gave assurances to the city and governor. This deal is not in jeopardy and this is cheap reporting. Yes, Austin wants a team. Yes the rays are bitching for more money. That’s the only thing that’s true about this cheap reporting
The Tampa Bay area is one of the fastest growing spots in the country and I’m pretty confident that another, better ownership group would be jumping at the chance to bring a team back here and develop real estate for it should the current ownership decide to leave.
Personally, unless current owners decide to sell, I wouldn’t be heartbroken to see the Rays leave. Let Austin deal with those owners.
OP is a Texan with big dreams
I think the Rays are looking alright to stay in Tampa at this point. The only thing to figure out is the owner situation.
Ignoring the fact that this story is from an Austin newsroom on a slow news day, I doubt Austin is even in consideration for a team, as Texas already has the Astros and Rangers, both around 160 miles away in both directions.
You must be on that crack, to think the rays would move to Texas. THEY ALREADY HAVE A TEAM.
