TIL that of the 105 home runs that have been hit into McCovey Cove, exactly 1/3 were hit by non hall of fame baseball player Barry Bonds
December 19, 2024
Before letting in Big Papi I could see the argument for keeping Bonds out – but the writers assoc has lost all moral high ground now. Time to let in Bonds and Clemons at the very least.

Good luck with that.
No
Better plan is to throw Ortiz out.
Even buying into the ” false positives” narrative that will come up around Ortiz, or the “it was different stuff and was ok back then” stories by guys like Piazza, I bet A-rod gets in by his final ballot and it really drives home how Bonds isn’t in because he’s been a jerk to the writers not because of PEDs.
You guys have got to stop letting ESPN and a bunch of writers tell you how to feel. The hall is full of cheaters, but the best player in baseball history is excluded?
There are probably a dozen players who would be in the HoF if they were nicer to reporters, and that’s stupid.
Good ole Rogar Clemons.

The clear is a helluva drug
He creamed a lot of balls clear over that wall.
The ban on Pete Rose has expired as well
Wow you sure about letting Clemons in??
1 of 1 posts by non hall of famer harlsey will long be forgotten as irrelevant.
See, you can put non hall of famer in 99.9% of sentences and it’s pointless in all of them.
They should just make a section in the hall called the steroid era. Bonds Clemens Ortiz arod etc. they can deny it all they want but that era literally saved baseball and selig 100% knew players were cheating but was ok with it due to ratings
Bonds cheating or not was a cheat code. Josh Allen is a great comparison to him in terms of how dynamic he was offensively.
So what?
Bonds was a first class jerk making it do nobody wanted to give him a pass. Mark McGwire, on the other hand, was a class act and I’m sad he won’t be in the hall.
Bonds averaged 4.375 splash hits per season.
Everyone else combined averages 2.8
Fuck him, Hank Aaron is my homerun king. Bonds was a cheat and a liar. If he was nice to people, he’d be in the hall. Instead, he was a massive douche with an even bigger temper. Thus, he’s not in the HoF.
Once Selig got in, all bets were off
Juiced HRs. What’s the point?
There’s only been 105?
Wow / I would have thought more but I rarely see games there
Alternate headline: 1/3 of home runs hit into McCovey Cove by known cheater.
