“He’S sTiLl MiD!” – the media still 🙄
lol excludes throwaways which are like 25% of his drop backs this season. i’m a hurts believer but that’s important to note
I don’t think we should exclude batted passes because that’s definitely still on the QB to avoid
I’m fine with the drops and spikes being excluded, but batted passes and hits are something the QB has to plan for, and throwaways can potentially be on them.
Not even trying to shit on Jalen, he’s my guy, but excluding batted passes and hits is a tad weird.
PFF is trash tho 🚮
Adjusted completion percentage is the best reflection of the eye test I’ve seen.
So, when he’s targeting a receiver he’s like, really accurate?
But this sub has told me that he’s mid and all of our aspirations depend on him improving his passing!
What to believe?
Advanced stats and my own eyes which tell me he throws absolute dimes?
Or miserable Philly fans and media trying pathetically to pre-empt their anticipated disappointment by convincing themselves they are “right”, all in a futile attempt to prevent themselves from being hurt again?
Hmmm…
It’d be cool if there were an algorithm to weight the completions. Like a pass behind the LOS was slightly less weighted than a 25 yd dime.
Better be. We barely throw the ball 10 yards.
Edit: apparently cpoe factors this in.
“Excludes dropped passes, throw-aways, spiked balls, batted passes and passes when the QB is hit”.
All of those criteria except for spikes and in some limited circumstances drops, are fully within a QB’s control in the normal course of the game. It’s the hallmark of a good QB to ensure all passes are cleanly catchable, passes aren’t knocked down at the line and that they are not hit during release.
Should we also adjust for windy, rainy and cold weather games too? What about incompletions thrown on receivers who ran the wrong rout?
That’s a lot of exclusions lol
I hate seeing Daniels that high
I’m sorry but I’m so sick of PFF and all these theoretical ass statistics lol
This is one of those stats where somebody like Jalen is going to do really well because most of his issues come from holding the ball too long resulting in missing receivers, getting hit as he throws, or throwing the ball away.
I’m not knocking him at all, but the areas this stat ignores are like the things that negatively affect him the most.
Yes hes highly accurate. Its the decision making he sometimes struggles with.
And his closest comp is a rookie
Stats like this make me hate statisticians
That seems like a stupid statistic
Why would you exclude batted passes?
Not a stat anyone cares about if Hurts is first and Allen isn’t on the list. Let’s look at number of completed passes in New York while the Bills are on the field.
