Braves acquire pitcher Davis Daniel, 40 man roster now full

Exciting
Daniel was designated for assignment a few days ago by the Angels after they acquired a Chuckie Robinson. 6 starts with angels last season with an ERA of over 6 across them
Hey look, another depth starter with an option remaining! Traded for a “2 way player” who’s 23yo at A ball.
Saw “Braves Acquire” and got excited. The rest of that sentence was thoroughly underwhelming.
I guess AA knows who he is, because I sure don’t.
This is like when I was 12 and my parents bought me a knock off Starter jacket for Christmas.
He’s an Auburn guy, he went to school in Montgomery but he spent some of his childhood in Atlanta so he’s kinda a local guy.

I truly think we aren’t going to do anything of real value this offseason. Next year is gonna be rough.
We are resetting the CBT. Everything they are doing and saying screams this.
Does this mean we’re rolling out Arcia again next year?
Ingram, Weems and now Daniel.
AA signing any dude who at some point knew a postal code from the Atlanta area.
Edit: Assholery aside. Daniel had his first MLB start in June 27. He pitched eight innings of shutout ball. He’s mostly a depth move. He also made the 2024 Pitching Ninja Awards, lol: [https://x.com/PitchingNinja/status/1858146410807333192](https://x.com/PitchingNinja/status/1858146410807333192)
trade away a soft-tossing pitcher who’s pitched well in the low minors for an older soft-tossing pitcher who’s got an option and has put up fine peripherals in a short major league career
perfectly fine addition to the Elder/Dodd tranche of Quad-A veteran pitching depth. nobody should be complaining about this unless they could’ve told me at least 2 facts about Mitch Farris an hour ago
Auburn Tiger!
I do not understand the Braves’ offseason.
The crowd goes mild
The fuck you’re mean the 40-man roster is full?
It’s December for crying out loud.
Oh…ok. Sounds good.
Is it a concern that we only have one real LH SP and Dodd? Maybe it’s not that big of a deal, really, but in my mind, it seem like a potential issue.
Braves made such a big point about clearing out money and instead all we’ve done is feel like we are shopping at the 99 cent store instead.
Here I thought we were trying to fill out a MLB roster not a minor league one. Every single move has been one classified as a “depth move”
Who? It’s well past time for something to happen. At this point we’ve lost d’Arnaud, Fried, and Morton, and replaced them with AAA depth.
My initial reactions:
1. Why’d we acquire a 40 year old pitcher? 2. Oh yeah I’m dumb.

I am one steamed little clam right now.
