  1. This is what they are, a .500 team.
    Perpetually stuck in the mud.
If you don't draft high for a number of years, the degree of difficulty in becoming a solid contender becomes even harder.
Threading that needle is a monumental task.
DB has yet to make a difficult decision.

  2. It's true, the Flyers are one of many average teams in the league and have been for many years. They just don't improve from one year to the next. They seem to have the same weaknesses year after year (scoring, power play, time of possession, etc.). I hate the term "rebuild" because it encourages a mindset that losing is ok for now. Let's hope we see some progress in the second half and next year.

  3. I love the stretches of good hockey (overall they took it to the Kings pretty hard after the 1st period last night) but then you have a breakdown out of nowhere where someone misses coverage or makes a bad change and suddenly you have a breakaway/odd-man the other way, puck is in the net before you can blink. You hope for some momentum saves but in reality those are plays you just can't have happen if you want to win games consistently. Onto the next one!

  4. Teams that 'rebuild' lose for a couple or more years to get the best players available..When you're a .500 team like Philly, you get stuck with a mediocre team for years and years…and, along with non significant trades and no moves for better players, it takes even longer to be competitive!! Frustrating for sure!! 😔
