Congress passes RFK bill in surprise move, giving D.C. control of the stadium site

The bill cleared the House in February on a broad bipartisan basis, and it was not immediately clear how D.C. officials and their congressional allies got all senators on board.

    Insert shocked pikachu but wearing an old bay bib or something like that here. Thought for sure my Maryland senators would be a roadblock for unanimous consent

  6. Bravo to whoever in the Senate had the presence of mind to hotline items that were cut from the omni. I think it could have been Kaine because he hotlined the pediatric cancer funding to add it to the SSFA vote.

    Looks like Harris flexed some muscle. Also looks like some Senators realized how pissed off the Washington fanbase would be over this.

    Seriiously these guys have to be around D.C. when Congress is in session, so they know what RFK means to this fanbase, hell some of them prolly are Commander fans.

    Add to that the fact there was no good reason to oppose this bill, and there ya go.

    I think the MD senators also realized that they didnt wanna be the ones associated with keeping Commanders outside of DC. Most of their constituents probably want RFK just cause they are football fans, forget the other stuff.

  12. Wow great news! Still doesn’t excuse the lies spread though. Look I respect that we each have our own opinions, povs, etc but I hope this at least wakes some people up to how many lies are being spread on twitter and unfortunately Elon Musk is among the worst offenders.

  22. My crockpot theory is that Dan Snyder was bad for America. The Skins were right shit for so long that the politicians couldn’t come together and root for them, and thus had no chance to build camaraderie around anything that wasn’t directly politics related.

    Turns out sports can indeed unify us all. A “Washington” team should be playing in Washington DC, and it turns out everyone agrees!

  36. Now in new year Harris can start negotiations with DC Mayor. Really hope you guys can get a stadium deal sorted as it truly looked like it was it was dead or extremely delayed.
