The Los Angeles Dodgers have already added one superstar this offseason when they signed Blake Snell. They could swing a trade for one of the best players of the last decade before the start of next season.

Nolan Arenado has a no-trade clause, and according to MLB insider John Denton, the Dodgers are his top choice. He is willing to wait until the Dodgers tell him they do not want him to accept a trade elsewhere.

“He doesn’t want to do something in sort of a panic move this time of year,” said Denton. “He wants to wait and see what his best options are. I think we all know, we all understand — Nolan Arenado wants to be told ‘No’ by the Dodgers,”

Arenado sent hints earlier this offseason that he was eyeing the Dodgers, and Denton confirmed that they were not a coincidence. Arenado turned down a trade to the Astros. Denton noted that Arenado is willing to wait until there is a firm indication that the Dodgers are going to start the year without him.

“Nolan is gonna hold out until the Dodgers tell him ‘No’ to his face,” said Denton.

Arenado signed an eight-year, $260 million deal with the Colorado Rockies in 2019. He was traded to the Cardinals before the 2021 season. He is an eight-time All-Star and a 10-time Gold Glove Award winner. Arenado is one of the best defensive third basemen of this generation and would be a big addition to the Dodgers.

Max Muncy would become more expendable if the Dodgers added Arenado.
