Former Ravens WR Diontae Johnson is likely to be claimed on waivers Monday, per sources. Potential landing spots include but are not limited to the Chargers and Chiefs – if Johnson even makes it that far on waivers.

  1. We definitely aren’t signing him, he would be in the same boat as Chark, never seeing the field.

  2. If John didn’t like him, I have a hard time seeing Jim giving the guy a shot. He’d be a nice little boost though offensively, and we def need help at skill positions.

  3. I mean why not? If things work out the team should be resting starters against the Raiders which could give him snaps to see what’s there. If not, just cut him again. This wouldn’t be the first midseason WR addition to play snaps (e.g., Reagor).

  4. Burning way too many bridges. I’m sceptical his personality would mesh with with Jim’s “what is good for the hive is good for the bee”. This dude is all mee bee.

  5. Schefty is usually plugged in; I would think we’d pass because of the character issues but it’s probably worth it to pick him up for nothing considering the state of our room and a chance to make a run. And of course, it would be worse if he lands on the Chiefs and elevates them.

Who has the higher waiver claim right now, us or them?

Imagine teams like the Bucs or Falcons would also put in claims.

  6. Damn a trade and cut. They’d rather cut than keep for depth after giving up assets for him. He must not look good.

  7. I’m of the minority I guess. I really wouldn’t mind giving him a shot. If his attitude is shit, cut him. But having another receiver in the room to add more competition could be a huge benefit to us. If anyone could turn him around, it’s Harbaugh and Herbert.

  8. Maybe just maybe he will realize this is a pivotal moment in his career and will try and take his next oppurtunity seriously. Low risk high reward for us I wouldn’t mind it at all, when he’s on he’s a solid B+ receiver. If he coughs up an attitude again then he gets released or rides the bench

  9. Guys that love football love Jim and Jim loves them back. Doesn’t hurt to bring him in as they have brought many other guys this year. Worst case you send him back to the streets if it don’t work out like the Ravens. Also good to prevent other teams from grabbing him.

  10. Seems like it’s worth claiming him, seeing how he looks then waiving him if it’s obviously not a fit. Jim has always been clear the competitors are welcome

  11. You already know John and Jim have been talking about him so let’s see if baby Bro pulls the trigger to pick him up
