  1. Truly a legend and will always be beloved in Oakland. I was 2 years old when he retired, but I went to school at Oakland Tech (his high school) and grew up playing at Bushrod and always felt his presence and legacy. He will be missed forever

  2. I went into S&S seafood, , Ricky Henderson was, in there . I was very excited, to see him, though I remained calm. After I placed my order, I spoke and told him, that I was a regular, faithful fan , as a youth ,) an outfield fan).. And I use to , wait outside the locker rooms, after the game , to get autographs, and just to see them. I loved them so much..I was at the 73 and 74 World Series.. I was 3 ans 4 at the time❤ I then asked, if he would sign an autograph, for my only son, at that time. He graciously did, with a smile!!! And thanked me😢he smelled better than anything I'd ever smelled, I said no thank you😂, for everything you've done, for Oakland and , my childhood…RIP Mr Henderson, heres your flowers 🎉…..🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾🫶🏾😘

  5. As we all journey through life we would do good to say like my dear friend Rickey I gave it my all. Rickey went on to soar with the gifts he had to impact a generation of hope fulfilled and great character of goodwill for all who came in contact with him

Condolences to his family and entire Northern California communities that was his platform for his major league achievements. His walk and pressing forward toward the mark will resonate for times unforeseen I salute my dear friend by saying >catch up with you on the other side>>.
