I hope Ricky slid under Saint Peter’s tag into heaven.
Heartbreaking. We love you Rickey. You were one of the greatest there ever was. 💔
The city of Oakland completely died today. All the sports teams are gone and Rickey passing, caps it off. Rest in peace to the greatest leadoff hitter of all time.
His SB records will forever be unreal. RIP Rickey.
RIP one of the goats. Hope he’s stealing bases in heaven.
The greatest Athletic of all time and a top 10 talent in the game of all time. No one will ever play his style of the game at the level he did again. Growing up in Oakland and being a fan my entire life, this terrible news feels like the close of the final chapter of this part of my life. Incredibly grateful I got to watch Rickey play, meet him many times and even play in a semi pro game with him.
RIP brother, you had one speed and one direction, an absolute pleasure to witness your career.
Maaaan, what a shock.
You either loved him or hated to love him.
RIP

Ricky bids Ricky, “Farewell!”
I remember in the 80’s going to a New York Yankee game at the old stadium and girls yelling Ricky at him all game…still remember to this day…RIP
What??!!?
This so shocking man, Rest in peace to an absolute legend and one of my all time favorite players.
What a loss. Rest in peace, Rickey.
This sucks
What horrible news. Few played the game like Rickey. Dude was fire on the field. He will be flying around the bags in the Field of Dreams.
Beat Leadoff batter in history and it ain’t even close.
My favorite off field moment was during an interview back in the 90s when the topic of PEDs came up and the interviewer suggested that 50% of players were using them.
Rickey responded, “well I don’t, so it’s more like 49%”
ROFL
RIP
I wonder why MLB network or MLB.com haven’t reported this . Usually they are quick to post when MLB legends pass
His birthday was coming up on Christmas Day! Remember that from his baseball cards. RIP Rickey
I’m glad I got to see him at least once in Oakland before the team left. It was the second to last game and man it was cool.
The biggest thief in baseball. 🫡
This one hurts. Growing up in the 80s, we all wanted to be the Man of Steal on those bases. 😭😭😭
