To think at this exact point in the season, he could have more than 8 TDs and his current yardage as a rookie if it wasn’t for some missed shots by Pat and a couple instances where Worthy couldn’t get his feet in bounds.
His OROY consideration would be right up there.
But with that said, even with some of those missed splash plays, it’s good to see his short and medium game growing in terms of getting opportunities and capitalizing on them.
“blá blá blá bad pick blá blá blá bust” after week 6
He’s very rapidly growing into a NFL level WR and it’s very pleasant to see.
Just needs to work on balance and getting those feet up to break those ankle tackles.
Beast
What’s insane is I feel like he could easily have like 3 or 4 more if not for just a few inches of error on either his or Mahomes part.
He’s a rookie and he’s learning. Rice was about this level of development last year. If the trajectory is the same the Chiefs young WR corps is gonna be scary good.
Just loving the development just like rice last year! Nice job rook
He’s gonna be a monster. I didn’t want us to draft him but I’ll admit, he’s even better than where Hill was his rookie year
I love to see the growth he’s had with DHop on the team. Incredible.
My only serious concern with him is his frame. Tyreek was fast but built and could get through the arm tackles. Worthy tends to get knocked down by first contact. If he could even put on 20 lbs that would help him.
Rice is a terrible short term loss, but worthy soaking up all this responsibility is a massive long term gain
A comment Andy made in the post game presser, I’m paraphrasing. “He’s learning to make the adjustments needed on routes, not just running the straight lines”.
So, that’s what speed do?
And the best smile.
I hope we bring some of these vet WRs back. But regardless, how can you not be excited by the thought of Rice and Worthy moving forward? Both have followed a similar trajectory despite their different skill sets, and both are gonna be primed to pop off next year.
ETA : Breck Leach better learn how to draft skilled position players this off season. I mean come on.
Next step for him and Mahomes is the pass pro holding up for some designed deep shots.
Worth the trade up, Thanks Buffalo
Next year’s version of Worthy is going to be nasty. Rice and Worthy alone are going to be a terrifying duo, let alone if we can keep either of Hopkins or Brown.
If you want a laugh, go view the Bills sub and search “Worthy”. He lived rent free over there this season. Now compare his stats to Colemans. Big luls
Can’t wait for the X-mas present on Christmas Day. Let’s get that number 1 seed 💪
I really like what I’ve seen from him as a player and as a person. Seems humble yet driven. Love how frustrated he gets when he *almost* breaks a play wide open. You can tell he wants it bad
One thing that will make him WAY better is his ability to not fall over when someone so much as tickles with heels. I swear he is a few inches away from breaking away for another 20 yards like 3 times a game and he’s ALWAYS tripped up at the last possible second, and it always results in him falling completely down. No balance or awareness.
