It does not feel like it has been 21 years since he played for the Dodgers. RIP Rickey.
Rickey dies when Rickey say! RIP Legend
Was electric to watch. Rest in peace.
I remember as a kid I didn’t see Rickey in his prime and I saw him live when he was with us. My dad kept telling me how special he was back then.
Even though Rickey was well past his prime I saw right away he read the game naturally faster than most. RIP to a legend
Rest In Peace Rickey.
What was Rickey’s stint with the Dodgers like?
Absolute legend
True legend and class! Rickey was always and will be a superb human highlight reel!
The greatest lead off hitter in my lifetime. RIP!
He was the standard for leadoff hitter. Wish we had him during his prime. One of the best to play the game.
Loved Ricky Henderson. Dave Roberts reminded me of him on the bases
Ricky fast!
Classy move by the Dodgers.
With the A’s in turmoil and moving to Sacramento temporarily, I hope they don’t fail to acknowledge what he ment to Oakland and to baseball.
One of the best hot shots in his time. Epic homerun trot.
Ricky Henderson was one of the most exciting players I’ve ever seen, a great personal favorite of mine. He was magic every time he got on base, the cat and mouse game between him and the pitcher was epic and as we all know there’s legions of stories about him off the field as well that are really funny. Such a great athlete and I’m glad he got to wear dodger blue, even if it was for a short time.
RIP Ricky and thanks for so many great memories
I’m never forget the neon green padded mizuno batting gloves that we all got because of him in the 80’s-90’s.
I attended Cal-Berkeley in the early 90s when Rickey was playing in OAK. I went to the SB record-breaking game vs NYY in 1991. Other notable personal notes from that day: (1) It was the first time I ever heard of Bernie WIlliams and (2) I caught a Canseco BP homer off a bounce on the concrete steps of the RF bleachers.
