  2. IF this happens…and we all have seen what happens too many times when multiple teams are in on a player…this is a potentially solid move depending on what we give up. It makes Helsley the closer and Green and Garcia 8th inning guys, which shortens games. Mind you, we still need leads in the 8th-9th inning, and we still need offense. So we can't fully evaluate this move by itself.

  11. What a dumb move by Shatkins! How many save opportunities is this guy going to get? The price tag would be ok for a contender looking for that final piece but not a team that has so many holes to plug. Especially for a rental. 2:36

  15. They’re “in” on everyone every year and get no one (of significance). It’s a BS shell game scam designed to convince fans they’re big players in the market, but just “missed”. Wake up. They’ve been pulling this crap since they “offered” Edwin $80 million right before free agency in 2016 knowing full well he’d want to explore the market and pulled the “offer” as soon as he went to free agency. He wound up with $20 million less from the Indians and Shatkins were nowhere to be seen. They are shysters.

  16. Getting Helsley could help shifting Burnes to sign seeing that the Jays are getting a top closer to end off tough games. Protection for all the starters is always a good way to go especially with rude bullpen last year!

  18. I see two things that should happen.
    1- Blue Jays owner Rogers fires Atkins and Shapiro. Neither are doing anything to improve this team. Should be controlling minor baseball.
    OR
    2. Edward Rogers sells the Blue Jays south of the border. If you can’t sign star players cause they don’t wanna play here. Then either sell the team or accept the Blue Jays as a forever mediocre team/franchise. Getting good draft picks. Making the playoffs a long stretch.

  19. Why would you think the Cardinals are interested in Blue Jays garbage for Ryan Hensley? If the Cardinals, as reported, are looking for high end YOUNG and CONTROLABLE starting pitching the Blue Jays simply don’t have it to offer plus you seem to want to take your one young intriguing hitter off the table? Nah it’s not happening

  21. If Atkins makes this trade it's just more proof of how unqualified he is to be a GM. Just like Hicks, they will lose him next season to free agency for nothing. That's how Atkins destroyed the Jay's farm system. Trading away all the young assets only for single season rentals. Atkins likes to trade away Jay's best players when they want more money to extend but Atkins will trade away assets for players he vacant extend anyways. What a clown. This is a stupid trade and another reason Atkins need to be fired. Why trade away assets for a closer going to free agency.
