Which squad do you believe was better overall? To me the 2020 team seemed better for the regular season, while the 2021 team, despite the regular season struggles, seemed more playoff-engineered. What are your thoughts?

Is this a real question? 21 Bucks win by a mile. I’d say they take it in 6. 2020 was a solid team tho
I’m gonna go out on a limb here (don’t roast me) and suggest that the team that won the NBA Championship was the better team.
21 bucks win in 5. Jrue was a major upgrade over Bled if only for decision making on offense, but also defense even though Bled was great on d
Should’ve won it all in both years, idc. COVID screwed us.
In ‘21 we had PJ Tucken. The Durant stopper.
PJ in his final Year of the Dawg was critical, made us a team ready to run through the gauntlet. Still would have loved to see the 2020 squad outside of the bubble. Bud had load managed the team so well and we were more healthy and rested than most contenders. Then everything shut down for some months and erased any advantage that might have brought.
19-20 bucks > 20-21 bucks
Jrue was an upgrade over Bled for sure but the 19-20 team was so much deeper overall. Would have had home court all the way if Covid didn’t happen. Even during the reg season the 20/21 team could only go like 8 deep.
Maybe Giannis being better overall in ‘21 puts them over the 20’ team but man the depth was night and day.
This is a hot take if I’ve ever seen one.
I actually think 2019 may have been the best and most well rounded team we’ve had. Couple of different bounces in game 3 and I think it’s an entirely different conversation we’re having.
2020 team could have won 69 (maybe 70) games if not for covid, but I consider it a blessing in disguise that pushed us to get Jrue (still optimistic he re-signs here after his current contract so he could retire a Buck) who was vital for us winning the Chip the following year.
21, 20, 19, 23, 22
i also think part of why the 2020 team collapsed in the playoffs, despite being a deeper team, was giannis being exploited by miami’s defense, as well as bledsoe having subpar performances compared to the regular season
in 2021, i felt that the team wasn’t as cohesive on defense despite jrue being an individual upgrade over bledsoe (mostly evident through a weaker record and net rating), but i also think another part of why the 2021 team won (other than the nets not being 100%) was because the core got better in the playoffs, with khris improving on both ends of the floor, and jrue being a more consistent/reliable perimeter defender, as well as giannis improving his post game
the acquisition of BP was also able to offset the loss of ersan’s corpse
