I’m not saying we don’t have a giant hole that needs to be filled at QB. But he is clearly the best QB on this team, I have no idea why he wasn’t starting week 1.

Get this shit off my screen. We are fucked for the next 4-6 years. AOC isn’t the answer, he never was.
It gets worse as you read. What’s funny is that the comment was correct on his underrated play considering the circumstances he went through. It got stupid when the Peyton Manning and Troy Aikman comparisons started coming in.
If only he was playing in the 80s, 90s or 2000s…

All it takes is for one stupid person to make a stupid statement and then they get someone to agree with it and then it becomes the truth .
God we have some truly dumb fans
Aikman was a slightly below average QB carried by Smith and Irvin and made the HoF on their coat tails, 3x super bowls and being a Cowboy. Manning’s first year was an anomaly in his career, like many first years.
AOCs fine. Not good, not bad. He’s fine. He would be okay if he was in a Purdy, Tua or Hurts situation where he is just a game manager. Now would we be that good? Fuck no. Our coaching is way behind that. But for him to be a playoff QB, he would need very little asked of him.
We would have had a bigger sample size for Aidan if the bozos started him from week 1. Fuck it let’s run it back with him next season. Remember he will still be on his rookie contract so he’s cheap as fuck. Sign or draft a running back. Upgrade the offensive line, get another receiver to pair with bowers. Also tune up the defense at couple positions. CB, linebacker, maybe DE? I’m not familiar with the QBs that would come out of the 26 draft so I can’t even look that far ahead.
Honestly, he’s never been the reason for a loss.

No different from people acting like Ward and Sanders are the next Brady and Mahomes.
The people that will be mad about this comparison still think AP is the next Dan Campbell.
the difference is Peyton and Aikman were very talented 1st overall picks on very bad teams. They came to teams that were even worse then the Raiders
This sub is goated lol
The fact that he wasn’t the starter at the beginning of the season was a shame. For some reason they thought Uncle Rico was going to be better. He clearly wasn’t. And the offensive line was a disgrace. We’ll see if they get better during the off season.
Joe Montana started his career 5-10 also.
Just saying.
Sam Darnold has been in the league for 6 years and he’s only one year older than Aidan O’Connell.
manning was consistent. O’Connell can look like a top 10 qb one game and a below average backup the next.
All a young QB needs to properly develop is a good OL play/run game and a good defense.
This staff ruined a good OL that made Jacobs run for like 1500 yards
Lmao
Why are the numbers of games different, though? OOP was supposed to look at the first 16 (should be 15) starts for each guy.
This is silly logic because Manning and Aikman had bad first years so you could just compare any QB that had a crappy first year and declare they are the next Peyton Manning!
You’re not seriously comparing him to Manning are you? He’s a back up at best.
As soon as he starts saying Omaha at the line that’s when we know he gets it.

Food for thought.
