Did Dana Claus Deliver? We made a list and checked it twice.

Htown Wheelhouse talks about the presser where Christian Walker was introduced, what inspired Walker to sign here, and more.
The Houston Astros have indeed made some significant roster changes. They traded All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for third baseman Isaac Paredes. Additionally, they signed first baseman Christian Walker to a three-year, $60 million contract. These moves indicate that the Astros might be parting ways with longtime third baseman Alex Bregman.

As for the question of whether general manager Dana Brown will go after pitching on a budget or spend big now, it seems the Astros have been strategic so far. They might continue to be cautious with spending, focusing on budget-friendly options for pitching and potentially making bigger moves closer to the trade deadline. It will depend on how the season unfolds and what their needs are at that point.

Join Eric Huysman and Brett Chancey for the Locked On Astros podcast as they discuss whether Dana Brown has completed his holiday shopping list after signing Christian Walker. They may have patched holes in the infield, but the holes in the outfield may be too much to patch up without a prospect stepping up.

  1. Great Job by Dana Brown by moving forward and adding power bats, in trade and FA.

At least no black cloud of questions with Bregman and Tucker, throughout the long 162 plus game season. Focus on winning.

  2. I give Dana an A. He had salary issues to deal with and Bregman leaving. He still put the Astros in a position to contend in 2025. I think this team is in better shape than the 2023 or 2024 teams. 95+ wins.

  3. i love performance bonus…..best way to do contracts…our outfield is a complete joke….sick of weak arms in centerfield and look at myers ops

  4. Dana did a great job honestly. Cam Smith is in our farm system and Paredes/Walker are in our lineup. Feels good even if this is kind of a transitional season. I'm ready for baseball already.
